Youtube Notifications

I noticed that when I comment on other's videos and if somebody replies to it, then I dont always get a notification. From some users, I get email (because I have enabled it) & google notification at the top right corner and some others I dont get any notification at all. I actually have to go to that video to see if they replied.

I was wondering if thats because of some setting they have chosen or its something else? Anyone else face the same issue?

By the way, on my videos, I get all notifications.

You'll get all notifications on all your vids, you'll only get notified of comments in the same comment thread if commented on someone else's video, not any fresh comments.

Think of comments on others' as threads. Only get a notification if you participated.

Think that makes sense if I've understood you.

Maybe I should have been more clear. Say I commented on your vid and you replied to my comment. But I dont get any notification whatsoever. Only if I open your video again and go through the comments, I see that you have replied to me.

This doesnt happen with everybody, only few channels, so wondering why. I understand I wont get notified for fresh comments on others videos.

Yes it is, my guess is it is some setting that particular user has done, otherwise I wouldnt receive notification from anybody.
