Youtube - Motorcycle Crashes into Bicycles 4/27/2013

Gobsmacked. Talk about a good example of target fixation. The youtube user here basically spends his whole life filming bikers crashing on this bend.

rnickymouse - one of my all time fave youtube video makers. He has so many bike and car vids on his channel and as you poit out many spills too. Mostly on the same corner.

This one was a shocking one though, the rider fixated and either chopped or clutched the bike for it to stand up like that, just inexperience or panic.

That cyclist took a fair old smack on the head... Could have been very nasty.

You can see the biker pick the bike up as he fixates. Check out his lean angle mid-corner compared to just before he hits the cyclist - he could have cranked that over and easily avoided it all safely...

Part of me wants to be harsh on him, but I think we've all done it at some point. I've said before how my years of riding seem to have overcome any target fixation issues, now, but I certainly had some stupid incidents when I first started riding.

I've had my licence for two years and it still pains me to target fixate. It's a hard habit to break.
