I kept getting prompted a while back and caved in before it was forced. I didn't have the option to keep just one name. It made me set up a new Google+ account and link my Youtube account to it. So now when I log in to G+ or Youtube I have to choose which one I want to use. That gets really confusing when I'm logged in as Kryten on Youtube and then respond to something on G+ and it turns out I'm logged into my other account. It's really confusing. If it will let you have just one name go with that option.

i'm not sure what i did... think i created the G+ thing with exactly the same name... recently! .. i pressed-ed the buttonses and it happeneded!! :roll:

I kept both names, because G+ was personal and Youtube was Nerb1. Now I have gmail, personal G+ page, and Nerb1 G+ page.
I dont think it will matter for you because your names are so similar.

I chose wrong and erased my channel too! Still lamenting it and telling anyone that will listen

I didn't choose anything and my channel -as I knew it- is already gone
It looks so awful now.

That's mine and it has the about and videos tabs. If I go to any channel that I'm subscribed to, I can only see the feed, no way of listing all uploaded videos for example.
