YouTube have clarified the rules on profanity in videos

But they don't really list out any specific words, besides f-word, which clearly must be Fanta. So how do we know if we have accidentally used a profanity?
Do they consider regional slang?
Do they consider meaning behind words, that might not be profanity in other uses?
This is all so confusing....

What I find funny is they classify swear words and CENSORED swear words as the same thing. Like, really? Bleeps count as curse words? I blur my mouth [if visible] and bleep out anything worse than damn or ass. [but not because of YouTube - more because I know a few of my viewers watch with their kids or grandkids]

So, does YT count EVERY bleep as a curse word? I use the same sound effect with a 1/2-second color bar sometimes to denote a transition from topic to topic, or place to place.

Well, I was reading the latest pinned update on YouTube's profanity and foudn this interesting:

their use of the word "may" makes any statement ambiguous doesn't it?

Swears are just words with pizzazz. I wish youtube and anyone who has a problem with swears (not to be confused with slurs, hate speech or bigoted dog whistles) would just stop with the whole certain words are bad because some religious schmuck thinks they invoke the wraith of a god that at best went out for smokes two thousand years ago and never came back. But I'm not a big wig or a creator with clout so fuck me and my opinion.

I try my best not to swear while filming simply because I don't want to be bothered to edit in a BEEP while I'm editing the motovlog together.

I do fail at that goal quite regularly though...:D
You use Davinci Resolve - just create a "blur mouth" adjustment clip with a blurred circle in it, add that over the video and track it to your mouth. Takes 15 seconds. Then, have a bleep sound in your Power Bins for just such an occasion. Drop it on the audio track for SFX and trim to length. Takes maybe 15 seconds.

Total time: 30 seconds per instance. NBD :D

PS: NBD = No Big Deal (not Next Business Day, as it would be in a business setting) :D
