YouTube finally simplifies copyright claims!

Trying to remove pirated videos used to be such a pain in the @$$, YT has finally made it so much more simple, and also the way it identifies copied content is quite surprising, especially those 10%-40% matches, makes you wonder just how thorough their algorithms are. So for anyone thinking of ripping off content even just a bit, might want to think twice.

Call me cold, but I reserve my sympathy for the deserving. If I hadn't made my claim, you wouldn't had felt any sadness with ripping videos from others right? You rightly deserve a bad reputation and a strike. Sorry not sorry.

I usually just ignore such emails and don't reply at all, no time to talk with people like this.

How cheeky of them, I guess it is kind of flattering to have your videos copied, does YouTube give you any money they made on their videos?

It's actually annoying because it was tedious to report them, now that YT simplified it and even now suggest to you which videos are deemed to be copies of yours using their YT algorithm, things are looking much better.

I don't think YT will give or route any of the earnings these rippers have gotten back to the original content owner, sad.

I'm sure I heard on a PewDiePie video that some lass who copyright claimed one of his vids said she got around $700 for doing so previously!

It looks like the options you have are only available to the YouTube elite.... guess those of us below 1k subs are not important enough!

Really? I don't know where to even check that.. But looking at the ones ripping my stuff mostly don't have a large number of views so probably nothing substantial I guess.

I'm not sure of this.. It's the Beta YT studio..

Cool, at least it looks like they will slowly expand the feature, probably using us whiners as testers to sort out any kinks before spreading it out.

Really curious how slowly...
Might be 2019 before the <1000 subs can use this function. (if at all)
