YouTube Create App

Remember to Have Fun! - Solar Bear 2020 Champion
Has anyone tried the Beta of the application yet?

I did just to see and it really cannot tell a difference between wind and the sweet sound of a motorcycle.

Here is a sample I ran using the audio cleanup setting...

It also only has 720 and 1080 as upload options. This was shot at 2.7 120fps.

The app might get better but for now it is not up to multicam yet. It is good for single cam bigfoot or UFO sightings or other quick to get out in public. Just do not use it for squirrel sightings.:p

Wow, I hadn't even HEARD of that app - but it does a fantastic job of cleaning up the audio!

And to think, I paid money for a plugin to do that!

Does it have a slider for how effective it is? If so, it could leave in some of the ambient noise.

So, the new workflow is to record your engine noise on a dedicated recorder, process the voice through this, and then combine the 2 in an editing program? :D

No slider or adjustment that I can find.

I use the Clarity Vx plugin I bought - and cranked to 100% it'll do a similar effect. It's really unsettling to see someone riding along and not hear anything until they speak.

That's why I asked about a slider - Clarity has a dial from 0 to 100%, and you can really get it to where you like.

Cyberlink AudioDirector has a lot of adjustments too. Tons of things I have yet to use because 90% of my audio is really good.

I like watching Powerdiector University's channel to see some of what could be possible.

But removing too much of the bike sound really is unappealing. In the raw footage above I can hear even my tires change their sound when I pull down some speed. All the little ticks, tings, and rumbles are what we as riders learn of our bikes over time so taking that out much is like not letting our co-star speak.

I couldn't agree more! I like some of the random noises. My helmet mic picks up some good stuff - like the whine from cupped tires a couple of years ago, LOL.

Maybe you could clean up the audio for the vocal bits and then lay it back over the original audio and play about with original sound levels- lowering for wind noise and raising when bike noise is heard.

Nice idea.

It does not support mutli-tracs for audio but it maybe possible as a music trac. That still would not be able to separate wind from bike noise though.

But you could turn down the volume when the wind noise overpowered the bike noise, without losing voice volume.

That will turn down the noise of both bike and wind which would be noticeable if I am not talking. I am not sure but that would take too much away from the experience and have the audience reaching for the volume knob.

Reality is that our bikes are noisy and the wind gets loud in real life. Those that don't ride might get the impression we can whisper sweet nothings the whole time.
