Your Favourite Tyres?

So its about time for new tyres, the rear is pretty square right now :(

I'm leaning towards Michelin Road Pilot 4s, I've heard A LOT of good things about those tyres. But what are your favourites or what are you running now?

What type of riding? I'm inclined to go ahead and say do it regardless. The pilot roads are great. Long life combined with good grip. They offer good feedback and don't really give you any surprises. In recently convinced some local police motor jocks to switch to the pilots on their BMWs and they absolutely love them.

As said, all depends on what you want from them. I had awesomeness tyres on my Husky, really grippy but I wore out the rear in less than the time to get to the bikes first service (600miles iirc). TBH I am not up to speed on current rubber, my Guzzi has just 2 options if I want a modern ish tyre lol.
In my sportsbike days this discussion would cause all sorts of arguments as the feel a tyre gives a rider on one bike can be completely different to that it gives another on a different bike.
I have always rated Michelin tyres though on the road and on track both wet and dry conditions.

I think what I want mostly is a tyre that can handle all weather riding, with a little fast-road/twisties fun. My current rubber is absolute crap in the wet, the front slides all over the place which doesn't really inspire much confidence, and that all weather performance seems to be what the PR4 is aimed at. They can't be bad tyres if the coppers are using them!

I think i may be the odd one out as i have the dual purpose Heidenau K60 scouts on my bike (theyre a good 50/50 tyre which got me over 20000kms on a rear).

liked them so much i put on another

Angel GTs (and PR4 GTs) are best suited to heavyweight touring bikes. Had Angel GTs on a Sprint and they were horrible.

People hate on them but I've had Avon's on both my Honda cruisers and will never use anything else. They last forever, feel great and are pretty affordable compared to Dunlop or Michelen. Even after a few burnouts they still feel great ;)

Im a fan of the Metzlers Z8 but gonna get the new roadtech ones.

Have used PR 3 and 4 and though they are fantastic tyres I have had numerous punctures with them. If you ride a lot on the filter stream they tend to pick up a lot of junk. Great grip in all weather conditions tho but they don't like fast drops into corners.

I have the PR4s and I love them. My favorite tire is the Dunlop Q3, but they wear down if you commute a lot and don't ride hard all the time.

i ride with the Michelin Pilot road 4, and love them.
i commute with the bike and take some back roads home, drove trough winter and they never failed me.

they are on the bike now for 20.000km and counting :) on a CBR600F

Pilots last long and they're safe. Get them too hot and they ain't sticky

Super corsas are the nuts but get them with 1 spec of water and they ain't sticky

Mmmmm dem PR4s!

Ah nice dude, how are they on the ER6? (Or 650r as I think it is in the states)

Yea it's just a 650r here. I like them so far, but haven't had the chance to really test them. So far it's just been commuting around and stuff. Need to hit some twisties to see how they perform.

Ordered my PR4's to be fitted this saturday. Choked at the price though, £350 all in

Nevermind, needs doing. Rear tyre is square af and the front is plain awful
