What are you using to record audio?
Just the mic that came with the Drift its so sensative that it picks up any sound and i have tried so many spots to try to reduce the wind noise so i can vlog at higher speeds but i seem to be getting worse. I got one more spot im gonna try and if that doesn't work i have a Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone that im going to use with an external audio recorder and pair the audio up with the video in my movie editor

Re: Yet Another Mic placement failure

well i'm using the drift microphone and i can talk at 60mph without hardly any wind noise, i have my mic sensitivity on number 1 and it is clipped to the top of my cheek pad so it digs in to the side of my head lol

Idk i have it set on setting one also and once i hit 50mph forget about it i feel bad having my views having to listen to all that wind noise. Maybe my standards are too high and im expecting it to completely cancel out the noise but i like what i hear from other vloggers and i try their mic placement and it doesnt work for me. This is the only thing that is driving me nuts about the Drift

Why not just plug the other mic into the camera?

I dont have the Drift HD i have the stealth so the mic input jack is some weird av hole and the mic i have is a 3.5mm jack so it wont fit

Re: Yet Another Mic placement failure

Ah, well, if you don't already have an audio recorder you can get an adapter cable from Drift for something like $15-20.

Yea i was thinking about that but the adapter is so long and the microphone i have is already like 20 feet long but it has a -54 dB so i figures that would get rid of the wind noise

Re: Yet Another Mic placement failure

Yeah I googled that mic. That's a crazy cord, but I bet the thing will do the job. Might require some post-processing though. My -10 pad kills the bass and makes me sound like a 3 year old..

About the cords... I've got probably 8 feet worth of cord too. I coiled it up around the inside top of the helmet, so when I wear the helmet the cord is kinda like a halo. Took some work getting it all in there, but you'd never know how much was actually there, can't feel a thing.
