Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade my pipe this season and found this awesome TB slip on, however it only goes down to the 2003 R6, mine is 2002.

The 03 is FI not carbs, so I'm wondering whether or not I could still use it...

It does sound pretty awesome on a 03.

Any help is much appreciated, as well as other recommendations.

sounds like an air raid siren well the guy pulling out on you might not see you but he'll defo hear you have a look on rtuna dont know if they would have your bikes exhaust but its worth a look

If it will fit onn the pipe, it will work.

What you might find is it does funny things to where your power is. More open = more low-down power for a loss at the top end, for example.

Check out my old Formula Vee exhaust I've bodged onto my GPZ

The only thing that is bike-specific about an exhaust system is the pipe the muffler attaches to. There's no difference bettween a 2001 muffler and a 2010 muffler in reality. Find one you think sounds good and then find a way to make it fit your bike. Simple as that.

Even if it doesn't fit the pipe you can buy adaptors, too. ;)

I meant the length/shape of the mid-pipe really. Had to have a pipe custom fabbed to put a D&D on my 98 VFR, shop did it for about $20. I had to make some inserts for the D&Ds on my 03 VFR. The inlet opening is slightly larger than the pipe diameter. Actually used parts from the internal baffle I had left over when I cut the mufflers down to be shorter. Clamped the hell out of them and they work great. :)

If you like the sound of the pipes, just take it into a shop and see if they will fit it on.

Some pipes may require re-jetting the carbs. On FI units it may require a re-mapping of the sensor algorithms.

Check the manufacturer of the pipe and the bike to see what they recommend.

I know on my Harley the MAF tables are written so tight that changing the exhaust requires upgrading the intake and the ECU.

Thanks guys, I didn't think it would be a huge problem, just trying to avoid making a schoolboy mistake :D . My god does that bike sound good in the video though!
