preachy!! You dont have to or need to tell people to wear bike gear its there choice. Each to there own, i do wear my gear 90% of the time as it will save me, but going to the shop i wouldnt put full leathers on ever, its like saying do you wear full leathers to get the buss as theres just as much chance of being hit by a car asoon as you get off it.
I don't need to or have to but I can and it's a topic open for discussion lol


But yeah, your bus analogy is wrong because gear isn't designed to stop you getting hurt when you hit hard immovable objects or when you're crushed I.e. in a car/hit by a car. So having said that, it'd be irrational to wear gear inside a vehicle like a car or bus or for protection against those vehicles hitting you. Gear covers you for where road rash is your #1 concern.
I wear full leathers everywhere because if it's not far enough to warrant riding, then it's short enough to warrant walking/cycling.
