Why Are You Vlogging? What Is Your End Goal?

Ha, I just covered this in my latest video I put up yesterday! My main two reasons for vlogging are to capture what I get up to and share I with others. The final reason is that it has opened a whole new aspect to riding for me. From a humble Harley rider to a rider who sings for the whole of YouTube to see. The escapades, shenanigans and things that motovloggers get up to is amazing.

I did it to learn how to use Adobe Premiere and After Effects, then got hooked ;)
End goal is to make a little income from to pay for my fuel. Long way off from that now a days ;)

As Nerb says two posts above me. End Goal? There is no end.

For me, my channel started as a way to document my adventures for not only myself to have a record of them, but also to be able to share with friends and family and to encourage others to get outside and have adventures. Then I discovered that there was a thing called motovlogging and a whole community of people doing it. So now, it's also for the social aspects and interacting with other like minded people. :)

Sure, I'd like to have XX number of subscribers someday and be able to earn half decent money from my videos, but that is not (and never should be) the main goal. :D

I vlog from time to time. Normally if I get a new bike or if I move to a new city. If you see my posts, I have several vlogs from my time in Malaysia. A couple vlogs showcasing the Ducati Scrambler and a couple vlogs showcasing my Victory Vegas.

I am certainly not a weekly update kinda vlogger.

It's a hard topic to answer really. I'm moreso in it for the social experience, and there really aren't many motovloggers that you see from around my area. Most of the large American vloggers live in areas where they're riding flat + straight most of the time.. I think if I ever get a subscriber base, they'll appreciate the hills and turns that are in my area.

But realistically, it fills a lot of my time where I sit at home doing nothing. It gives me a reason to get out, and a reason to learn new things (editing, etc). I've also found I'm a bit more outgoing on my bike since I started, as in I'll talk to other motorcyclists at stop lights and stuff now.. as to where I used to just sit behind them and be shy beforehand.

Love this reason! :)

When I first started, I will admit I thought, naively, hey this could be a second income. I also thought that in all other social situations I am quite out spoken and I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things so why not vlog them on youtube.

Now the reality is somewhat different - forget about the money, cos for me it ain't gonna happen. And as for voicing my opinions, i'm thinking - who gives a fuck about what I think anyway - apart from me.

So now I do it, cos I just enjoy doing it....no expectations either way.

I'm starting to gear up for a ride to Brazil next year with my buddy that I want to share. I had a few tests so far but will start with hopefully more interesting videos as the time gets closer and I buy and test the bike and gear out.
