So a friend sends me this youtube link:

And the thing that bothers me most is that there is no credit to the person who shot that video. I would subscribe out of sympathy if I knew who's channel it was. :/

I hate these channels that steal other people's content and then want you to subscribe to them. At least do some commentary or something to add to the video and those stupid captions don't count.

Me too! Makes me mad as hell that someone else is monetizing on someone else's intellectual property most likely, without consent.

I sent the guy(greddy1331) a message about a week ago letting him know that some people where stealing his vid and gave him a link to report it. Never heard back from him, but I personally hate video thieves. I even sent the guy who stole the vid a nasty message and left a comment on his page.

OOops, I've just done the same. Well at least it's nice to know we look out for each other. :)

What I hate most is the visordown people saying that this video is proof at how dangerous motovlogging is.

What a load of nonsense.

I know. It should be obvious for anyone who really watches what happens in the video. He's following the truck and looks down at his foot & when he looks up the truck has hit the brakes and wham. This video is making a REAL good case for putting a watermark in videos... I just did a youtube search for "motorcycle ups truck" top three video are all stolen.

I'm thinking of maybe putting in a simi transparent watermark in all my future videos. What do you think? Necessary or too annoying to have to see while watching the video? Personally I don't mind watermarks as long as they don't interfere with the view.

Me too. Some people do it because they get "exclusive rights" from the video creator. They may not monetize the actual video, but they gain subscribers under a false pretence.

anyway, what would you have done, brake and hit the truck, or gamble it's clear and swerve to the left?

I wouldn't have looked down, especially if I was following so closely behind a delivery truck that stops frequently. If he thought something dripped on his leg like he said then he should have slowed down a bit to check. Of course hindsight is 20/20. He made a mistake. It happens. He's taken a lot of shit for it I'm sure. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured and I'm sure he learned from his mistake.

That's the first time I've heard people calling motovlogging dangerous, was that on the visordown forum or from two magazine?

It was on Visordown website, TWO no longer exists. I was annoyed when I read their caption too, motovlogging had no impact on the accident, the rider looked downwards and noticed the UPS van slowing down too late.

Cheers I didn't know about two. Yeah the last thing we need is getting wrongly branded as dangerous

The only difference between motovlogging it and not, is that afterward he can upload the crash to youtube for others to see. It still would have happened regardless given the sudden deceleration of the truck at exactly the wrong time. Wrong place at the wrong time... not a bad rider, just an honest mistake that really could have happened to anybody.
