Okay, so i'm upgrading from the cf moto v-night, and hot damn i want me a naked bike.
I'm 6'7 and 110kgs, so i need me something with a bit of power, and i'm looking for anyone that's had any experience with them. Currently, i'm looking at the following:
Er6n
Xj6nl
650 nk
gladius
cb500

Any other suggestions are welcome, but i also need something that is learner legal and will give me a bit of life, as i want to buy it new. I'm not looking at resale value, just soemthing that i'll enjoy for a good few years.

>Inb4 chinese bikes are shit

thanks lads and ladettes

I recently bought a 2011 ER6N. It's my first big bike and restricted to 47bhp. Done quite a few videos on it.

My reveal video has lots of shots of the bike and my new channel trailer, 'Skyfall', makes it look pretty cool :P
I think it's fast after riding a 125cc. I forget how fast it is off the line. My dad has a Bandit 600 and I can keep up with him until the restrictor starts doing its job at about 85-90mph when the acceleration is reduced. I've still done 100 on it (it will go faster even restricted to just over half it's horsepower), just don't really want to go any faster than that lol.

I got 50 miles to the gallon when I tried it recently. All of the miles I did were with mates so I would have been pulling away quick now and then and giving it a rev etc..

My mates think it's great and are always urging me to rev it, and they say it reminds them of a transformer (Decepticon).

In this video it's clips of me actually riding as well, so you get an idea of how you would look riding it, which is important  I'm 5'8" (175cm), 55kgs btw.

Only negative I've found with it, was the top of the headlight surround vibrated against the top of the headlight at 4000rpm. I talked about it in my videos, but I've sorted it by slipping some of that non-slip mat in there. Can't see it, solved it. Not sure if that's a trait of all ER6's, or just mine. Reckon just mine cos it was very noticeable

I've sat on the new CB500F, and thought it felt too much like a smaller bike. I wanted something that was going to last me long term and that had the big bike feel. CB500F felt too similar to my YBR125.

I was quite impressed with the XJ6n when I rode one a few times

Handled nicely, decent manoeuvrability at slow speed, seemed like there was plenty of power for everyday riding, it was comfortable (im about 6'2), and it was weighty enough to be stable but not overly heavy.

I would say its a good learner bike and beyond, plenty of power to keep you entertained and definitely would be easy to take your test on

I've already done the first rider safe course here, which is like a 2-day learning course. All that's left is another half day course going over some more stuff, but they have bikes to use for it, so taking the test isn't an issue.

The problem i'm finding, is differing opinions on throttle restrictions.
The cb500f does not have a restrictor, which is making me lean towards that. Honda are also the only ones willing to do test rides

0-70mph 5 seconds

I did this on a recent ride. Need to do it in the day really.Gear changes aren't perfect but it shows how quick a restricted bike can still be. It also shows how long it took for a 125 to catch up once I let off the throttle.

At your height I'd recommend going and sitting on a lot of bikes before considering one, you man find a few listed a little tight and bent over. If you plan long rides check your feet and knees/leg bends and the taller you are the more cramped they can get.

I know you said naked bike .. And seem to have a tilt towards the road only gear ..

But at 6'7" !!! ... The Kawasaki KLR 650 springs IMMEDIATELY to mind! ... They still move along quite smartly when you twist the throttle ... Great torque ... Plus you can Vlog your butt from road to trail/bush and back again!! ... And they are LAMS ... AND when you get off restrictions and want to sell it ? ... Providing you buy smart (second hand but 'young' ) and treat it well .. You are going to get good resale/trade ...

Slide your butt onto one and check it out! ...

I should say in general I'm not a Kwaka fan! ... I have nothing really against them but prefer other brands more ...

However if/when I get the funds for a second hand KLR 'at the right price' .. I'm having it!

Just a thought!

I would recomend an adventure bike rather than a naked. I am 6ft2 and I struggled in nakeds. I love my susuki v strom but also try something like a yamaha xt660z but thats my 2 cents. I would go for the v twin (personal preference) but also look af the mt03 too.

CHeers for the advice everyone, but I don't think adventure bikes are for me.. at this stage of my life anyway.
I'm riding a 150 at the moment, and I don't find that uncomfortable, so i think I'll be fine.

Just for an update, I took a cb500f for a test ride today and I'm pretty much sold.. that thing was delicious
