What Kind Of Bikers Do You And Don't You Wave / Nod / Acknowledge On The Road?

I have at everyone regardless of type of bike except for people on scooters because around here the people that ride them are not "riders" they just don't want to by cars or pay for registration or insurance.

I dont nod to L plates. I used to and they never nod back so sod them

I live in Suffolk and most don't really nod to be honest

how will they ever learn if you dont teach them dan! :P

I nod at everyone and no one sometime and some times i wave like a massive twat and some times i dance

I'll nod to pretty much anyone - though I do frown upon those 'Squid' bikers, most usually the 50cc riders with a t-shirt on and shorts.

That being said, I don't get the nod back from other riders (probably because I have a 125), which is slightly annoying - We're only being polite!

*As a side note, I feel like fewer new riders don't know about the nod - I think it should be mandatory on your CBT. ;)

I wave at everything on 2 or 3 three wheels. Even bicyclists, sometimes. If I can't wave (middle of a turn, shifting, sketchy intersection, etc.), I nod. Most people wave back. In this area, it's 50/50 whether Harley riders will wave back. That always cracks me up. Scooters often don't wave back. I think some scoots aren't expecting a wave so don't have time to do it before you've passed them, others (like a friend of mine) don't "get it."

I also give a thumbs up to anyone driving a car I like, and wave at pedestrians in my neighborhood. Usually rev bomb if I'm going by kids, seems to make them happy. If I'm in someone else's neighborhood exploring I'll wave so they don't think I'm a creeper. lol

Life is too short to be selective on who you do/don't acknowledge with a nod/salute. Love on all and all will be loved. Kill 'em with kindness.

I wave to everyone who can actually see my wave and isn't in a dangerous spot to wave. Two wheels is two wheels.

I waive to anyone on a motorcycle assuming I see them... sometimes I dont :( . Since I moved to the University of Kentucky I stopped waiving to kids on scooters at they never wear waive back however if they waive to me i would waive back (has never happened HAHA)

I give a nod to everyone no matter who... confused a lot of the learners though tbh, but we were there once.... :p well I wasn't I just jumped right upto a 650.... Would have helped had I passed my test mwahaha :P (surely not the only one - although I'm legal now just for the record)... but yeah. I get half the people on bigger bikes nod me back.. which makes me feel like giving the other half of them the reverse 2 finger salute... as they think I'm riding some piece of crap, until I rip the throttle as they pass by then they know I ain't riding a fucking toaster.

For example if you see a biker approaching, do you nod or wave at them, no matter what they ride. Or does it depend?
I personally nod at everyone, except people on 50cc mopeds. Don't know why, I just don't

Generally not GSs

Call me evil, but I completely disregard scooters. I just can't accept them.

Everybody else though gets a hanging two-finger salute from me though

Provided it is safe, I will wave to almost anyone on two or three wheels. I dont wave at bicyclists - around here they are even worse at being courteous than cagers. Been hit twice walking on a sidewalk (where it is illegal for cyclists to ride) and the 2nd time I shoulder-checked the asshole into the street (same damn guy, same week.)

We have the SAME Problem with bicyclists in south florida, except here, I wish they'd use the sidewalk because they bunch up and occupy full lanes of the road and block traffic. Once I was riding and some idiot cut right across the lane to make a left from the outside and I had to slam on my brakes (almost locking my wheels up) trying to avoid him.

So f'n pissed

I try to nod or wave to most riders, except scooters since they are just using it as a cheaper alternative to their cars. In general most bikers nod back in Cape Town but some days I can nod to every one and no one will nod back then other days I wont nod to any one then every one will want to give you the nod. Funny how it works like that.
