What if English is not your native language?

We all started in the same place mate. If once you are able to, you put a link to your channel in your signature, folk will be able to find your content easier.

Hey guys, I think this is the good thread to ask my question.

I've been thinking of adding english subtitles to my videos on YouTube, would you (obviously, people not speaking polish) watch and enjoy a motovlog with a polish voice mumbling in the background but with additional subtitles? I just want to know if it would be worth the effort ;)

Hi, if your content is good then I would have no problems watching with subtitles. I think YouTube would give you better promotion too if you did the closed caption subtitles thing! :-)

I can't promise to watch your channel, but in general I do watch things with subtitles. I believe I have even subscribed to a channel, who does its videos in their native language and adds subtitles.

Subtitles are fine I just really hate to do them manually, and I am super doubtful the YT translate will work well, probably a whole bunch of hilarious nonsense translation.. Hahahaha..

I recently did one (my first ever) in my country's national language, the response was OK, some ask to do more, but I think I might not, or probably very rare.

Maybe if I can find a subtitle plug-in for FCPX to do the job.. Hmm..

Wow, i just watched this tread and felt the same as R9T, and with very similarities, like the flag below my name (I´m from Mexico and it appears the USA flag :D. (i work for an american company and their servers are in Texas). When im online from my phone or my home the Mexican Flag appears correctly, you should try it.

I captured once a vid in English, but now i want to be focused in my latin american subs which commonly speak spanish, for the ultimate sunny bear challenge i added subtitles to my vids so i could share them with the motovlog.com community. Of course is more work adding them but i think is worth enough, 'cause you can transmit a better interpretation of what you're saying in your native language than if it is auto-translated by YT.

I feel the same listening to my voice in not my native language, i feel weird, but i know i will make another vlog in english for sure

non native english speaker here..i think that english subs is a good solution and maybe better than speaking english ;)
