I was just wondering if anyone sold things for themselves with their logo or name..... I have a decal coming, but I also have a poster that I have designed that is bad ass...... If you do sell things...how much??? I feel bad for wanting to do this...I try hard to earn what I have in my pocket and kinda don't really know how to promote myself....I'm just me. Nothing more. Any ideas or tips maybe???

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

So basically you want your subscribers to pay for your hobby and do the promotion for your channel? I would be more inclined to give up a hobby before I had to resort to other people paying for it, but that is just me.

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

You have to have around 10K subscribers, aka a huge fanbase, to sell shit... at least from an intelligence standpoint, that's what I think....

Sometimes I sell my body on street corners. Sometimes.

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

I made up a bunch of stuff but decided that at 600 subs it's ridiculously arrogant to do such a thing, so I'm just going to use them myself and give them away for free for whoever is asking.

I've actually had some people say that they'd pay for stuff with my name on it but it feels way too weird to sell it.

I kinda with fritz on this one, another website i used to master I made a load of fridge magnets etc (remember when they were cool lol) but I would give them away to anyone who asked for them.

Selling stuff well you can set up a cafepress.com shop and have it now linked into your youtube channel. I have a few fun things on there but I don't think I have ever sold anything. Just me playing about with it all.

http://www.cafepress.com/littleoddworld <--- Not given it a good go but I can see how it may be interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/user/Thunderous71/store <--- how it appears in youtube. Like I say just experimenting.

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

I really don't think you'd even get more than 2 or 3 people buying stuff with less than 10,000 viewers anyway.

If you want to do it, go ahead but a) there will be people accusing you of selling out and b) you'll make pennies.

It's a shame really because I did design some stuff, the logo Carkeh made me looks awesome on mugs and keyrings but it just doesn't feel right, i'm just me, with a nothing special in the grand scheme of things youtube channel!

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

Personally I say go for it! Selling stuff is no more of a sell-out than monetizing videos like many on here do so I don't see any stigma attached to it. That aside, I'd be surprised if anyone ever sold much as to create a brand out of v-logging would be quite impressive.

A friend of mine who is well known in the Parkour community as a pioneer is often accused of "selling out," because he is now making his living on Parkour. He likes to quote Tony Hawk: "Nobody calls you a sellout until your stuff actually starts selling out."

If you have a passion for something and can even capitalize on your passion-- BONUS! I say go for it. Only you know your own heart and motives. Have integrity in your dealings with others, remain true to your passion, and welcome to capitalism! Ignore the wrong accusations of your motives by others who don't really know them.

But remain faithful to your passion and your integrity. If you are willing to trade those for capital, that's when you are, in my book, the sleazy definition of a "sellout," because you've literally sold your very self away, if that makes sense.

**EDIT**
Here's the link to where the Tony Hawk quote comes from: http://www.entrepreneur.com/video/223459

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

Let me just make it clear, I'm not one of the people who'd accuse you of selling out :P

The only time I've seen anything like this I could imagine anyone having an interest in was through the use of generalized branding such as BWOM. It appeals because the phrase applies to all motorcyclists. A personalized one just seems really cheesy and full of self importance.

Thinking from a business sense, if it takes you 4 hours to make a logo, an hour to decided what crap your going to stick it on, then an hour setting up the cafe press to sell it. Its taken you 6 hours if not more. Minimum wages is what about £6.20. So you need to earn nearly £40 from sticker to make it worth it. How much can you get per sticker after cafe press take their massive percentage???

As a hobby though his time is free. Unless he's planning on quitting work :o

Re: What do you guys Sell for Yourself? Stickers..posters..

I'm working on a stickers (well, hoping for ideas anyway) but merely for the fun of it. If someone would want to have one, I wouldn't have any problem giving it to him/her, and not expect money for it. I just appriecate any support given, by subs or just people who decide to watch my (eventual) videos, comments, etc.,

As for Midnight, I certainly don't see him as the type who would be a sell out or anything like that.

This makes me feel so damn cool...

Back on topic, I say go for it. As was previously mentioned it's no worse than monetizing and in actual fact you'd probably make an equal amount of profit from it, hah.
