What do you do with your channels during winter?

Hey guys,

I know not everybody here has the opportunity to witness all 4 seasons... but to those of you who do -

What do you post when it's cold and snowy outside? Do you still vlog? Do you change your channel into a culinary vlog? I'm really curious.

Winter Is Coming

Shhh, we still have another 11 days of summer (I think) in the UK! :D
hahaha :D
I try and bank a few vids to roll out over winter, but UK winters are not as hard as yours I imagine, so I can get out on the bike enough to keep trickling videos out. I hope to maintain 2 videos a week, but it may drop to one if we have a bad winter.

You could take a warm weather trip and stockpile footage for later use. I have stuff scheduled for a month and half from the last trip in addition to Sunny Bear and stuff that needs editing.

Not that it get cold where I am but as long as it above 19F and dry I can manage to keep adding.

You can also try tech tip videos.

Last winter was a bit rough here in New England. I made a few vlogs ahead of time but also did more stuff in the garage or just ghosted multiple weeks due to the crippling depression not being able to ride brought on. But this year I picked up a Suzuki Savage for my fianceé to get her on the road and was planning on doing some work on that bike. Not a whole build series as I am not planning on changing too much, but more simple stuff like teaching her how to change fluids, brakes, adjust the belt, etc.

However, I am actually very interested and inspired by MV3city's mention of turning a channel into a culinary vlog. I do own a Coleman propane camping grill and might have to just set that up next to the bikes (its kind of nice to be able to write 'bikes' plural) and whip a few things up while talking about/through the bleak feelings I have of not being able to ride while the world outside is covered in snow.

I continue to ride as much as possible during the winter.
Normally i drop from 2 vids a week to 1 vid a week.

And i might use some older footage that i haven't edited yet ;)

This year i will also do a maintenance/customization type series, so that will keep me going as well ;)

I usually edit and post my summer holiday videos in the winter. Well I say usually, but it's going to be second winter, of the consistent posting period. Still, that's the plan. And when I run out of videos, i run out. I may post an odd drifting video too, if it gets snowy enough and lakes freeze.

Likewise I have a lot of vids already in the bank and I may not get to them until the end of the years. I generally can keep riding until around Christmas and then on again off again through January if the weather permits. I also spend a lot of time when I'm not riding watching other peoples stuff. Have to live vicariously somehow.

I don't stop. Admittedly my uploads aren't on a set schedule. But then gain the UK weather is that messed up it can feel like winter in summer etc.

Where I live when its winter you just wait a day or two and winter goes away for another day or two then its back to winter again.

Problem is that can happen anytime through the year.

What I do is I try to keep a few weeks ahead with my schedule. Where it becomes a problem is now, the weather is turning nice and I have nothing in the bank so its a week to week thing.

Last year I was still learning so I posted through the winter about my struggles to get good audio lol.

I dont have any videos banked at this point but plan on ramping up my filming so I can just edit through the cold. That and also throwing in a garage maintenance/DIY video in between.
Since my bike is my daily driver (rider?) I plan on riding as long as there's no snow, though I doubt I'll be doing any rides for fun during this time.

Considering i have over 200gb of footage of me working on the yamaha.
And i'm halfway through the build...

I got more than enough to upload during winter xD
