What are the biggest challenges you have faced regarding motovlogging of recent?

I've def noticed a huge drop in views and new subs, almost to the point the channel is treading water.
@rudeboy have you tried logging out of your google account and then setting up the VPN and then logging back in to google and YouTube? If that doesn't work, could you save all the videos you edit till you come back to the UK, and then upload them all on a weekly schedule to go live while you are away?

@rudeboy from my experience - spending time with the family should be first priority. I am not sure if you are referring to kids or just a significant other but both are important.

Then when you need a break from them, saddle up and film or edit.

@Meifesto and everyone else noticing our effort is not paying off - it reminds me of artist selling artwork on the street or even people performing in the comedy club. Those that have done it a while do it for different reasons but getting famous would be a nice one.

I am not going to drop names but there are just as good motovloggers on here as the huge channels. Many are even better because your content is genuine and less commercial.

I enjoy the videos that diffrent folks share on here though that seems to have slowed down a tad.

@HippoDrone I'll give the completely logging out of google thing a try with the VPN see if it makes a difference, with regards to coming back to UK, I don't.. My home is in Thailand with wife and kids, Haven't been back to UK since before covid so that's not an option and even when I do come to UK its usually just for a week or 2 to catch up with friends and family.

Yep have wife and 2 kids and they are always priority when I'm home, I tend to mostly get out on day trips when kids at school and wife is busy, I also try to plan weekends away with them but I'll go on the bike and meet them at whatever hotel / resort were staying at for the weekend so it gives me some seat time and also time with the family and then maybe I take the long route home and spend a night or 2 motocamping, its a constant juggle but family always comes first even more so since I spend so much time away working.

I only watch a few of the bigger channels, I prefer the smaller channels as like you say the content is just as good and feels less like an advert for some product or another,

One thing I don't do is share my videos very often on here or other socials / forums, I tend to share them only on my RudeboyMoto facebook page, maybe I should start sharing them more but feel like I'm spamming if doing that... I do do tiktok vids and point them towards my youtube but I don't think its made much difference,

Anyway I feel I've gotten way off topic for this thread now...

Ohja, no planning on getting rich and famous.
But it would be fine it kept stable and/or growning, instead of declining.

Youtube seems to push the big guys more.
And the short, they are really promoting the shorts :(

I don't post my vids here, really. I don't want to spam the forum.

Sometimes I remember to share my tutorial or how-to vids, but not my vlogs.

It is def worth putting your content up on here though, as new members then get to see what you are up to that have not subscribed to you yet... We do get a lot who lurk but don't post :)

I've noticed it too, and I've heard other motovloggers complain about drop in YT views this summer too.

I just think motovlogging isn't a niche the algorithm gives much consideration to.
I dunno... some of the channels I'm subbed to that have 5-10k subs, they're getting decent views and growth. I've seen ASTOUNDING growth on my channel the last few months... but 90% of that is my Lawnmower video, and the other 10% is meeting motovloggers at VAMM, so they all subbed and are watching.

I figure I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. I've gotten rather proficient in some of the Fusion effects in Resolve, so I've been tinkering heavily with those, and coming up with some killer effects that 99% of viewers won't notice or care about, LOL :D

Nah you are killing it, your channel will soon be larger than mine, but then with how hard you work on your channel it should be larger than mine! :D

Well, golly gee shucks, and thank you, sir.

[check's Mengy's stats]

Yep, only 30-odd subscribers away. Note the "-" - I'm not calling subscribers odd.
