Well, I started a dedicated facebook page...

In the continuing effort to breathe some life into the channel, I've taken some advice from the forum and started an external promotion source. A new facebook page. Actually, it's an older one I had that was dedicated to local motorcyclists in my area. It has a few members, and has been around a while. So I've renamed it, made a few tweaks, and will use it to help promote the channel. LIke I sometimes do with my "real" business page, I will occasionally promote a post to get exposure in facebook land. Of course, the more I spend, the more I'm exposed. For example, last week I launched a promotion for my rug cleaning business, and spent $25 targeting local traffic within 50 miles age group 18-65+ for 5 days. After the promotion was finished, it was exposed to over 4000 people locally.

I know we don't all have oodles of cash, nor is it wise to spend too much money on advertising, especially for a venture like this which will most likely never pay, but since we are locked down with covid, there isn't much else to actually spend money on. I mean, last weekend I went to the movies and was the only person in the entire theatre. So, since money is piling up, I have a few extra bucks to throw into the channel. I will treat it like that. So I've launched a similar promotion on the page. Let's see how it goes.

In the future I may branch out and revive my old Twitter channel which I have done almost nothing with since it's creation, but not sure how to go about using it for promotional purposes. Any tips?

I'm not a social media guru by any means, so I don't know if there are other platforms I can dabble with, but open to suggestions for that as well.

The key with social media is to be social on it, get to know your followers and interact, Twitter is no different, if all you do is share your videos and nothing else, folk will probs not respond as well as if you post day to day and share their stuff etc :-)

Would like to see an example of how to interact. The most I've been able to do thus far is reply to their comments.

This right here is one of the hardest parts of Social Media. I have Insta, FB, Twitter, and my blog site. The only one that really gets any interaction is ... when I share my videos to FB groups about whichever bike I'm riding in my video.

I also like, comment, and try to answer questions in those groups so that I'm giving more than I'm taking, and am a full participant in the groups where I want to share my stuff.

On YT, I go to the other moto vloggers videos who I follow, I watch their stuff, and comment when appropriate. It helps build the community feeling, and I've noticed that those same motovloggers have subscribed to my channel and interact with me there, too. Rising tides raise all ships.

Like @Drakhen99 has said, you need to join groups relevant to your bike/trips/content and get involved, like you are doing on here basically :-) Make being a member of their groups more than just a place to share your videos  Facebook is kind of handy now as a lot of groups will allow you to join as your page instead of your actual personal facebook profile, although some don't like that and insist on people joining with a profile rather than a page... which is utter BS in my opinion as they have loads of members using fake profiles lol :D

I do have a few facebook groups that Im a part of. Particularly for my local area riding. That one gets a lot of positive response and they dont mind me putting video links up here and there. I should look for more riding groups, but groups that are specific to my bike don't want motovlog promotion and aren't quite as friendly, but I'll find ways to sneak it in here and there.

Now I've started up my old Twitter account again. Havent touched it in years. Changed the name and put out a new hashtag #BaldandBiking and low and behold I've picked up 7 new subscribers in the past week.
