So are they saying that the only reason the GoPro cameras were overheating is because GPS was switched on? I never use it, so don't care about it... but I wonder how much space removing the GPS hardware frees up and if that means the camera will get extra features instead, or will possibly be smaller?

Well YouTube hits it with a Copyright so that is a no go and it is too big for free Vimeo.

To answer the overheating issue a presenter explained that comes from high res and or high frame rate.

Another bad point is they stressed that the "up to 2x battery life" really leans on the "up to" part. I think removing any GPS removed the need for the it to track and record the data so less processing is less power consumption. In other words that is where the "up to" comes from.

Ahh, so they say it is a good thing for customers... then actually say it will not make a blind bit of difference to the overheating issues some people have had... I guess it is just a spin to save them money by giving us less... No doubt it will also have a feature / resolution that is as un-needed as the GPS.... when all folk really want is a waterproof 3.5mm microphone socket!

I asked in the chat about the 3.5 and also pointed out their reason for losing GPS was BS. No one really used stickers was not because people did not want to. It was because their poop software on anything other than a smartphone would not render them. Hence you see work arounds that did not really work around the problem.

GoPro’s gonna amend their app now to Quik Poop - with all the fiber you can’t handle!
