Review Wear at almost 90k miles

The Twin Cam engines Harley started in 1999 and ran through 2016 were legends for wearing out cam chain tensioners to the point of grenading and sending metal throughout the motors. In 2006 Harley went from spring mechanisms to hydraulic.

I have owned a 1999 and it lasted until someone pulled out in front of it. Never once changed the tensioners and it had over 86k miles!

I then had a 2009 and traded it at 69k miles. Never had a tensioner changed.

Now here is my 2014 with over 89k miles...

I could have gone another 30k miles or so with no worries.

Not just commute, I tend to wander around a lot

That's car kind of mileage pal, great effort and it just shows if you look after the bikes and respective bits you can have an easy ownership.

Aye, that they do in some ways...wheel bearings, compensator, ...

Having never owned one I can't comment on this.
