Maybe you guys have already received such email(s), but anyways just sharing this. Hopefully you guys will be aware of this and pay close attention if you receive such email(s). I knew the email looked fishy and did not click any link. I've lodged a report to YouTube.

It looks funny but I think not everyone would be able to see through that and likely give out their info and result in their account getting hacked or stuff.

What's odd is how are they running their scam, how do they target people, does a user with no channel or subs get targeted?

Wow, poor English, a mail.com email address and not even an attempt to hide that the link doesn't go to youtube.com.

I could have done better in less time than it's taken me to type this!

They were saying to give over your login credentials and then hopefully you use the same ones elsewhere, like PayPal where they can make better use of them.

Haven't gotten this. I assume they can grab your address from your YT page info and then go phishing from there.

Update from the report.. Well it's a bit odd to target someone's YouTube account, usually they will go for the bank accounts / credit cards and stuff.

Yes and no- some people will take and mass upload affiliate videos to your channel etc!

They cash in blah blah and goes nearly in reported because it's not 'theft' as such

It happens a lot

Running things in a sandbox can be loads of fun with some scammers though!!! I saw a video once where a guy had someone remote in on his sandbox and he recorded the entire scam! It was quite funny when they realized they were screwed and high tailed it away.

All questionable links get clicked in a sandbox hence forth.

That's pretty cool.. Scamming the scammer.

+1 to what Dan said, but too many people have the same login credentials across the web, so once they've finished with your YT channel, they'll go looking for other things, or sell the credentials.
