View Count Stuck?

My most recent video has been at the same view count (68 - even after refreshing) since last night yet there have been new comments and likes. I also watched it a few times myself to be sure and it is still the same.

I don't really care but am more curious as I have never seen this before! Let me know if it shows 68 for you too! (you don't have to watch lol) www.youtube.com/RamblinRider

Ya something is glitching out! I watched it another few times from my xbox (different account) and no movement on the views! lol

It's not glitched. It just refreshes only every few days. You can check Live count in the dashboard.

Not all views get counted depending on the amount of time watched per video. Only those that are confirmed end up in the final count on the video page.

Thanks! That is so strange, live count in dashboard still says 68 yet ive watched it fully 5+ times since then from a different account...like I said I am mainly just curious why, it's not like I am missing many views

IP Address and location don't add additional views.

If people originally watched the video one day, then come back another to comment, they don't get added twice either.

YT has different servers around the world. Data comes in from all of them for view count. Any glitches it'll stall, it'll catch up eventually.

IP Address and location don't add additional views.

If people originally watched the video one day, then come back another to comment, they don't get added twice either.

It used to add a view anytime I would start to watch my video to answer a comment though? Or perhaps people were viewing it at the same time but it has always worked that way until now.. refresh and answer a comment while the video plays 25% of the way through and when I would refresh it would add a view..

I don't doubt you I am just sayin it used to seem like views would stack as I had convo's in the comments until today

I know never to click my ad! lol but I think you can watch your vids as much as you want right? This was the most at like 5 times throughout the day to see if it would change

YT regularly changes their algorithm. What used to be the case before doesn't always apply now.

Anyway, I wouldn't be so hard up about views. They're a useless metric now. Now YT favours watch time in minutes. The more minutes people watch the better.

Maybe hang around /r/Youtube on reddit. YT always does their shit silently without the approval or letting any of it's content creators know as usual, so the best way to know whats up on shittube is to hang around there where discussion is the most active.

Personally, I don't think it's that important to be so updated on shittube's changes if you're not making bank or a career out of this because it mostly wouldn't affect you (much).

Thanks for the help and tips dude! I know it doesn't matter to me really at my size but my entrepreneurial spirit still wants to optimize to make as many fractions of cents as I can for my effort lol I would still be doing it regardless, I guess that's just how I am

and I know they allow us to all these fun things and be entertained but you are right, yt is a dick lol who ever heard of company who you just cant contact! (until you have some odd million views or watch hours or something big) heheh

View count is not live statistics, YT will update it in intervals. That's why sometimes you see the popular videos that were just recently uploaded "get stuck" at 302 views but with maybe thousands of likes/dislikes. Your analytics will show you a more accurate figure.

YT is not refreshing constantly. I would hate to see how long it takes for vids to load if they did lol.
