Thumbnail image, category, title and description. I’ve been altering my video settings and look to rank higher in searches. Anyone else trying this or am I late to the party? Chris

Don't forget your tags, try to do some of the important ones first, like your channel name, brand bike etc.
And try to get at least 200+ characters in those tags.

Also good to do is mention the words from your title in both the description and the tags. Youtube seems to prefer that.

Def great to put in a good description and tags.
Top tip for thumbnails, try not to use a red border, it make it look like the viewer has already watched it, so may put them off clicking on the video!

Never heard that one before. Thanks for the tip.

Yep, it even checks it against what is in the video and what is said in the video to make sure it all lines up with the title, description, and tags.

Is this something that matters? Putting enough tags to get at least 200+ characters?

I've read a few things online saying to keep tags to a minimum, is that incorrect?

I always try to get my tagging to the max. But I don't use individual tags as such, I use titles of similar videos that cover the same topic or bike, or type of ride etc, just cut and paste the whole of their video title into the tag box as one whole tag, no idea if it works, but I was told that by a much larger motovlogger who works in marketing and promotion.

From different adds and companies, i have found that it helps to have more.
Like Hippo says can help.
Making sure 2/3 of the words from your title are in both the description and the tags helps as well.
Getting it above 200 is easy, i have 180 or so as standard tags for every single video i upload. ;)

Yep, I also use channel names of similar youtubers as tags.

I tend to only really do that if I am with them on the ride, or it is directly related to that youtuber or a video they have made.
