Venting and New Gear

Figured since I don't have my bike at the moment I'd pop on here and vent a bit.

As some of you guys know, I brought home a new (to me) GSXR 600 a few weeks ago. STOKED. The bike is great, but I've had a few teething issues with my new ride. When I first got it home the battery wouldn't hold a charge. After popping it on the charger and ringing its neck, it still wouldn't keep the battery up. After a bit of trouble shooting, I went ahead and took it in to Suzuki. Faulty connector one of the wires. Fixed. "Woohoo!" Then I took her out for my last vlog and noticed she was running north of 100 degrees Celsius and climbing when I'd bring the bike to a stop. Even at 105-110 the fan wasn't kicking on. "Balls."

So I took it back to Suzuki. After a day of prodding they had to pass it to an auto electrician - thankfully it apparently wasn't the fan motor, but rather more bad wiring/connections. So here I sit about 5 days later, after a holiday weekend here in SA, and a long business trip, and I've still got no ride. Hoping to get it back before the long Easter weekend.

On a more positive note, I did get some goodies in the mail. My AGV Sport Willow leather pants, and A* chest/back protectors came in from Revzilla. The new A* jacket and gloves should be in tomorrow. Also nabbed a tail tidy and brake reservoir sock. Now if I only had a bike to go with them! :x

Apparently my girl is making some kind of potato, bacon, cheese, sour cream things . . . cause the house smells like heaven . . . maybe life isn't THAT bad.

I'd like to know what you think of the chest/back protector as opposed to just a back protector. How it feels while wearing it, build quality, venting, etc.
You could even do a little video on it. Cheers.

I've got the bionic chest and back protectors. My GP Plus jacket should be here tomorrow, and I will endeavor to do a brief overview and post it up within the next few days.

I understand your wiring frustrations! After a number of diagnostic attempts I have realised mine just doesn't like getting wet : /

What's ordering from revzilla like from oversees? Considering them for some Klim stuff I'm soon to be ordering...

Revzilla is awesome. They even had me call to confirm it was actually me making the order and not someone in SA who had stolen my card. Might sound like an inconvinience but I appreciate that sort of thing.

The only dig is you've got to order $300 worth of stuff before they'll ship internationally. Honestly - it was a great excuse to upgrade the armour in my new jacket.

Oh, and I just got my bike back :D Good as new!

Awesome to hear your rides back to you, I know the feeling of continuous issues. It's hell.

I'd love to hear how that chest/back protector feels. I need a back guard at the very least, but ribs are important, too!

Jacket is at the post office, armour inserts are already here - I'll get the video up on Friday :)

As per your request, a brief overview of the Alpinestars armor:

Awesome, thanks bud!

That reminds me, I need to do a flyby on my bike for an intro haha. I keep forgetting every time I go out.
