For us noobs this seems great I'm working on my first video and after maney issues with other free programs this one seems like the best place to start and you already own it cause it's you tube, anyone one have any luck using this you tube editor ?
I know it doesn't do what the bigger programs do but for a start it's the best way to get content cleaned up with intro music, text fade out etc just a little fyi for my fellow noobs looking to get that first video done.

Vsdc free editor, dvd video suite, wonder share, one is called free video editor I think it's just a separate download that is part of dvd video suite,
Also downloaded iMovie so might just use the ipad
Download.com has lots to choose from

I played with a few free ones, before very quickly realising that they are free for a reason. very very basic.
Now i am not editting genius but, the commercial products i find easier to use even for the simplest of edits.

As is with everything these days you get what you pay for.
Though if you use a GoPro, GoPro studio is not that bad to use.

IMO - The YouTube editor is most likely not going to pratical for most people as you would need to upload all your footage first then edit or do some pre-edit in software on your PC/Mac first anyway.

You can give the Windows Live Movie Maker a try, it's basic as well. I started with that and made it work, just no option to adjust audio/sound.

No the YT editor is not proper to do edits, maybe some fine-tuning or simple effects but not full on ones.

I'm an editing noob and I use Magix Movie Edit Pro, look in the right places and its available for less than £10 so beginner friendly budget wise and it does the job very well. Easy to use but lacks more advanced features of software like Vegas etc.

Does everything I need it to though and does it pretty well

Just my 2p :p
