Upload Times

Wow, that is some slow internet speeds you got going on. With those speeds how do you even watch youtube? I would just upload at night. Don't sacrifice the quality of the video.

If you read an older poat of mine it was taking around an hour for each minute of footage for me before, it's now a relief not to be able to upload and see it complete!

so in vegas these are the settings I use and i get solid quality and rendering and uploading time i feel that it is fairly optimized for internet uploading

when rendering use main concept avc/aac
internet HD 1080p
allow source to adjust frame size
profile high
allow source to adjust frame rate
change maximum bps 10,000,000
average 8,000,000
Render using GPU if available

I render at anywhere from real speed to double speed, and the files are smaller so they upload more quickly.

My internet has been improved a bit now :) I can now watch YouTube preoperly in hd, upload in about three hours compared to seven, and getting stuff on Netflix/Amazon prime is not fuzzy anymore woooo

i want to join in this game! Unmm my hair is longer than yours! Im talking about head hair here not.. Leg hair

What did you do @RedRenna ? Good shout at your ISP? Can you watch the 1080/60 videos now like RJs latest stuff?

Did see Netflix advertise you only need 2meg to watch it.

I haven't tried rjs latest, will do when I get home!

My boyfriend phoned sky and asked why our internet is so crap and they did this 24 monitoring thing and then it was faster. No idea what they did. I think they lower speeds to see if you complain haha

Haha! Priceless! Disgusting cereal...

I was paying (as an average over the contract) £21 per month with EE for ADSL up to 17meg service. Looked about after it started going a bit rubbish, which coincided with the end of contract, and found a deal with Plusnet that average over 18 months was £20 and a few pence for 38meg fibre. I did pay the line rental up front which saves £2-3 per month, and buying online Plusnet were offering £50 after 3 months.

BT is ridiculous for fibre pricing though. Considering it's all the same network and cables to and from the green cabinet, I don't see why there is such a huge difference in price.

I love bran flakes with ice cold milk yum, Cleans the pipes well. and im with virgin media, its not too bad other than price.

My cable internet speeds looks like this:
Ping: 49ms
Down: 25.97Mbps
Up: 4.56Mbps

...but I pay an arm and a leg for it - $75/mo. ~_~ ... darn Time Warner Cable >< !

Not sure how it works over there in the U.K. (when I was there in 2001, I was a little confused... ethernet cables permanently plugged in into walls :o ??!), but do you have a modem you can reset periodically??? I know our cable modem sometimes doesn't update new speeds, process updates from TWC and other such things like it should, so they always advise us to reset it once a week for good measure :p . Don't do it though ~_~ .....

...but I agree with GhostNinja up above, don't sacrifice quality for speed. Quality is where it's at when watching vlogs ;) ~

iMovie is pretty good but FCPX is better :) . I'll be sending you a pm shortly ;) ~.....

Our providers are plain rubbish. If you don't tell them otherwise , you have max 24 down (8-12 in reality) with 0.8-1 up. Only if you go for a business plan you can get higher speeds.

A 3 gig video took me 9 hours to upload...

Forgot to say it's dirt cheap (25€) , unlimited bandwith (download all day every day) and rock solid reliability.
