Trash Canned My First Troll Today!

I had recently been thinking about letting my viewers comments post with no moderation. I am glad I did not do that because one comment terms took exception with me shooting a bike review while still recovering from sinuses and migraines in 30F weather.

Deleting that comment knowing it never made it to the light of day felt oh so good!

I let people post without moderation or approval from me, don't really care about unjustified troll-ish comments, I don't delete them for the amusement of other people that happen to read that troll's comment, some will feed it (by responding) but I usually don't. Especially for some of my posted crash clips.

if someone feeds the troll you'll get tons of live action there lol. Sometimes it'll be even good enough for a separate video on that

Negative PR is actually a very effective PR

I cant decide whether to run moderated or not. I guess I'll run it open for a while until I see some bad apples perhaps?

Does anyone know if your channel is partly responsible for a hate comment? IE: If someone posts something hateful and you dont remove it, does YT hold the channel responsible?

I don't think they will, since you don't really control your audience and there's a chance of a comment slipping by you.

Although on the other hand, they have the SHITTIEST customer service ever. Any question you have is going to be answered by a generic 'here are reasons: link" and the link leads you to a database with gazillion reasons. They are never specific and I have a feeling you never get to talk with a real human being anyways.

You make a valid point of it slipping past you, plus people would eventually flag it.

Hahaha oh really is their customer service that bad? I know that Google free product customer service is horrible, but business support is amazing.

Business may be, But youtube itself acts like it could never care less about you and your content.
Source: They actually recently removed one of my channels, which had all the samples of work that my studio does. Reason? Link to their database of reasons... Although none of it actually fit us as our content wasn't hateful, racist, etc. nor was it pirated. Every single bit of it was either ours or licensed. In resposne to a ticket I opened I got an email that had literally identical wording to the original one, except the header was 'we reviewed your ticket and decided to decline it'. Rest was the same with the same link to the HUGE database of all sorts of possibilities.

I don't believe you are responsible for what others comment on your video. Unless either your video is inciting the hate, or you replied to the comment to incite more hate, then perhaps. Otherwise, you can opt to flag the comment for hate and YT will remove the comment (this is not the same as you deleting the comment).

I think flagging would be more appropriate. Consider that a user could just be spewing hate speech, if you just delete his comments, he'll never get reported to YT.

I WANT trolls! That would give me more activity in my comment section and allow people to participate/start their own quarrel to my amusement :D

It is unpossible to satisfy all viewers and there are a lot out there who only trolling for fun or have no life or something, whe have here a site about motorcycling i posted a vlog there what is allowed, even an employee of motorcity Amsterdam commented me, that i can wait to get Burned down to the ground with comments, just because that forum has a load of brainless monkeys.

And indeed a lot trolling oneliners..
but also nice comments and even they start fighting eachother in the comments..

I just laughing at it..
