As for cam, im getting the as15, because im a broke mofo. i currently have a first gen gopro, but cant do the voice thing with it
 
well if i dont get one by the end of the month im going that route. depends on the birthday bonus and if the cam is still on special.

can t you get someone to buy it for you and send it to you? if its classified as a present? you can maybe avoid import tax?

lol ya. It's not terribly terrible using a separate voice recorder with the original go pro. I do the same thing. haha. I wanna get the Go Pro Hero 3+ Black edition, but until then, I have the original go pro. I record the audio using my iPhone with a mic going into my helmet. I,m also in south africa bro!! In Durban! Facing the same goddam issues with shipping etc. I find really good deals then the shipping fee's buttf*ck me to hell and back, and the present postage trick works if you lucky not to actually receive the item!!
I have a Gopro hero 1 and was also going to do the voice recorder route UNTIL i went shopping for all the recommended brands and found out they also cost about 2 grand so i kinda figured if i'm going to spend 2 grand on a voice recorder i may as well just save a little more and do it properly. Been saving for what feels like aeons though! I hate living in this place!
 
Im getting links from actioncamera co.uk . They have refurbed drift hd1080s for sale. Round about 109pounds. And an extra 17 for a mic. So for r2.5k you got an ok cam.
 
I've heard good things about the drifts. I recently bought myself a contour+2. it's a little fiddly to set up first off, has to run into a computer to change settings, but after that it runs really well. the main drawbacks are, if it breaks, will Contour still be a company to honour the warrinty? and finding information about the camera is like pulling teeth some times.
