To Hide Or Not To Hide Subscriber Count, That Tis Be The Question?

So whats your take on this. As of right now I do not hid them but at the same time I am seeing people do it more and more often. I would love to see some real numbers on how it affects a youtube page but I feel only youtube could provide that.

Do you think it affects your subscription rate?
Does it matter if you have a low subscription count vs say 5k+?
Either way, what are your thoughts??

Not sure if I see any benefit to it. It would make you wonder why someone would hide it, and your views and comment numbers speak more about your channel than subs anyway.

I suppose if subs matter and you're not getting any then you need to address why, not hide it.

I've wondered the same thing myself. I guess the answer(s) can only come from the people who hide the sub count.

I can see a big subscriber amount being more eye catching to viewers. Many times have I watched a mediocre video by a user with a large subscriber count and wondered why they were so popular. Generally, I'll check out their other videos and have been pleasently surprised with their overall content. As for why you'd want to show with smaller subscriber numbers, I'm not sure. I might just end up hiding it.

If you're responding to what I typed above - no, it's not about the numbers (of course not - it's about motorcycling... and vlogging !). Unfortunately, though, so many things in life are about numbers ~_~ . What a world we live in, huh ?

There is no reason to hide it. The key is to not give a damn when you are below 100 and not to give a damn when you above 100k. The moment you start to look at the numbers too closely you start to loose focus on why you are doing this in the first place. Your own entertainment! It's just nice that many people share your passion, and support it by watching, liking, subscribing and commenting on your content!

Besides, hide it from the public won't change the amount and you'll still be able to see it. Just enjoy the vlogging, views and interaction counts as I said, and as for monetisation you need loads of subs to make it worthwhile, and again, the number is the number as well as being a number. I absolutely agree. It doesn't matter how many subscribers you've got. If you upload videos, you should make them for fun and not for subscribers. I figured to just be myself in my videos and if someone likes it, he is free to subscribe. I will never hide the subscriber count, because I'm really proud of everyone single one of my subscribers and hiding the count would just give me the feeling that I'm embarrassed of my subscribers and I'm certainly not.
