Tips For Vlogging In Poor Weather

The Ghost says "Microphone Built-in, noise reducing microphone"

I don't think that it would be easy to record crisp voice like an ext mic in your helmet. But then again, I did not try it. Nor seen anyone around use that cam.

Like all cams, Drifts have a built in mic, but on the Ghosts you can plug a 3.5mm jack in, and have a mic in your helmet.

I know this as I've been doing it for 3 years on an HD Ghost and a Ghost S.

Thats the same you can do on a GoPro too. But, the point where you plugin the ext mic jack remains exposed to weather!!
Heavy rains could seep in easily, ending the cams life :(

So, how do you vlog with your crisp voice in such weathers?

Hahaa... My 'preaaciousss' cam... I would rather use a Gluegun to seal it off... and be sure that my cam remains invincible to nature... :p

I believe you can buy the mic for the drift with a waterproof seal therefore making it ok.

Another option (my old one) would be to use a replay xD1080 as the mic housing for these is waterproof however the cost for the microphone adapter is extortionate. Another problem maybe even getting your hands on them because I believe they went bust.

A further option

Buy a gopro bluetooth headset and use the fully waterproof housing

I have used the drift so many times with the external mic in very heavy rain ☔️. It has filled up with water many times and had to be dried out on radiator when home. Took weeks to clear the screen .

It still works a treat!!
