Tilted GoPro Hero 7 Footage

Have recorded 7 or so rides and all my footage is tilted to the left by 10-25 degrees.

I would suspect it's the seldom used GoPro prior to motorcycling but soany of the footage on YouTube are tilted too.

Other than fixing in post which can crop resolution by as much as 35% what can I do to fix this issue?

I've leveled my chin mount and intentionally tilted the mount the other way to compensate but no luck.

Any help other than buying an 8,9 or 10 or Osmo Action will help.

Hero7 should not have auto leveling, so I am a bit curious, how could it stay tilted, if you changed the mount angle. Did you change it to the correct side?
 
Unless you didn't move the angle as much as you thought you did, or moved it the wrong way, there is no reason for it to not correct, unless it moved back after you adjusted it?
 
When riding my head sits at a funny angle, so I have to purposely angle the camera to not point forward because when I ride, my head is tilted
 
I had a similar problem and had to change the position to get a level recording. It drove me crazy
 
I run a side-mount for my helmet, so this is a real issue for me. I still think my Hero 9 and 10 are off by 5-10 degrees, but nobody seems to notice. I would probably let it slide and make a "Batman Villain Lair" joke about it in a text overlay. [see my Hero 9 1st Vlog video for an example]

If you rotated the mount the other direction, the camera should've corrected the angle.

I hear what @HippoDrone is saying - head tilted at a funny angle - so if drag is causing your head to shift to one side, may need to try what @VetBiker did and move the camera completely to a new mounting position.

I too suffer from spinal column problems. If it it not my neck then it is the T- or L-Spine shifting. I have seen other riders even ride at a tilted angle on their bikes due to spinal column problems.

Have you tried putting a very small level on the top of the camera to see if the bubble shows which end is higher?
 
I found this when I had my go pro mounted on the side of my helmet as the helmet curves down and to the left in the spot I stuck it. When I moved it to the front of my helmet (on the chin area) it sorted the problem. Also mount wise I can't recommend RideTech enough https://ridetechmoto.com/collections/helmet-chin-mounts?page=2. They have 3D printed mounts that match the contour of lots of helmet brands and models... Good Luck sorting the issue!

Let me double check the mount and maybe exaggerate the tilt in the other direction if counter angle is already correct.

Thanks for the ideas. I do have mild scoliosis and slip disks in two areas. I hope though it isn't those.
 
I echo what Theodor said and do a dry run.
Maybe even off the helmet and make sure the gopro sensor isn't messed up in some way. If it's crooked there too then I'm not sure how it would get tilted, or how to fix it really aside from in post.
Hopefully you can get it sorted out.
I have a friend that can't wear a helmet cam because he turns his head slightly when he rides. Gives a great view of the ditch..;)

Yes, to further emphasize what Theodor said - dry run! After my first attempt at vlogging with the Hero 9, in which I failed to realize it was a smidge wider than the 8 when in a Media Mod, and I got the resulting tilted footage... I went home and did some dry runs in my "editing studio" to make sure I got the angle right, and then I took several pictures of the mount so I'd know in the future how to realign it if it got messed up.

Since then, it's been pretty level. I can't wait for the Max Lens Mod to work with the 10, then it'll be level no matter what! :D

Have you tried using a smartphone phone or tablet with the GoPro Quik app and live view? That way you see what the camera sees and can adjust accordingly before pressing record.
 
Yeah, definitely level that camera out as best you can and do the same test. I bet it comes out perfect!

You can sit the helmet on a flat surface and measure the distance from the surface to the camera on the left and right side to get it as level as possible.
I tend to get a little too in-depth though.
