Hey everyone,
Long time no see :)
I've been watching with a lot of interest doitwithdans rise to youtube fame.
It has been incredibly fast and I wanted to hear everyones thoughts on why that may be.
So let me know what you think were factors in it and some of the reasons :)

Hoons are always gonna be popular ;) Some of his videos are class other are cringeworthy nowt wrong there though.

I think its because he puts out great videos, and seems like a really genuine guy. The key is putting out videos the audience will enjoy. once that happens, and a few key people catch on, it will spread like crazy.

Never checked him out until this thread. Subbed right away.

Loads of energy and clearly loving it, doing it for fun, not the audience

I agree with this.

All you need is great content and people will come. No need to advertise, bookface etc as long as you have great content.

If your content is crap then you will need to work hard on "social media" to keep the sub count ticking up.

Also doitwithdan had a LOT of promotion from some big youtubers. If the content is good and a lot of people are shown the content... BANG, instant sub explosion. If either of these was not present, it would not have happened so quickly.

Same as EN187, loads of social media, live streams, then big names gave a shout out.

before you know it, got more than enough subs

I love his intro! That is all.
i am with you on that.... intro is different but other than that....MEH..!!
Watched a few of his vids and actually thought he was kinda annoying and was sensationalising stuff.

Like the "car that was too close and was going to hit him".. it was no where near him...try riding in london then you know what close is. I prefer to watch vloggers that have better verbal content.

But hey...good luck to the guy anyway.

He's a really personable guy, outgoing and friendly, messes around having fun and that helps. Some I enjoy, some I don't, like Walterrific, I've gotta be in the mood to watch his silly stuff.

I've been watching him a about 9 months now and its a mixture of everything you would expect from a Moto Vlogger - Good content, Funny, does not give any fcuks, 2 different bikes, and more than anything is really energetic and always up for it, also he lets you into just a little of his personal life to keep you coming back for more.
Thats something I'm going to be really concious of when i get Vlogging for real whilst out riding, energy! Well i'm mad enough anyway so i dont think i'll have an issue!

He's a cool guy. He likes cars too, which put him in my cross-hairs well before the subscriber explosion. I only wish I had his charisma and appeal. He got his old bike back because someone (not him) started a fundraiser to make it happen. And it did. I'll be stuck saving for a year before I can buy a bike, but I am fine with that. It's so much fun looking at all the different bikes I could end up with in the future! The Honda 919 is on the top of the list currently.

But you are right, he is doing it for fun. He would have put out the same content if he was still small. The same goes for myself. I post my stuff to YouTube because I want to have fun and connect with like-minded individuals! No matter where I go, stay at 1,2k or get to 100k subs, I am not magically going to get a chip on my shoulder and change everything up to highlight my awesomeness. I'll still be posting here, and still be interacting with everyone I can!

The key to his succes is shoutouts. I got some in the past, when 6foot4honda was at 10K subs, and adjriannickelodeon as well. I shot up overnight. It's relative, but if I gain 25 and 47 subscribers in a day it's insane, most recently I got a 27 gain from my "I got my motorcycle licence" reveal in an EN187 livestream.

The motovlogging community is awesome, to those with bikes, and those that desperately want one (or just support the 2 wheel lifestyle!). How can you explain motovloggers giving a shout-out to a guy that drives a car (aka, a cager) on his channel? I surely can't.

I like him. I started watching him right be for his sub explosion his vids are pretty good and his intro is catchy.

I have only ever watched one of his videos and that was just recently. What I saw did not appeal to me so I didn't subscribe to him. But I did comment and to my surprise he replied which is a rarity amongst the bigger motovloggers. As for why he got so big, I have no idea. Bought subs maybe, but shoutouts and hanging with the right people and stunt riding I am guessing?

He's an adorable southern kid with an interesting accent, pretty down-to-earth mindset, exceptionally friendly, likes to pull small wheelies, and has somewhat interesting videos. IMO, his major weakness is lack of world knowledge/experience. His recent post about the Confederate Flag prompted me to do a video on the topic. It's clear many people are clueless about various topics but still feel the need to throw in their two cents on current events without doing any research.

Meet him in ATL he is really a stand up dude, he is a hoon and hoon sells, and shout outs from TheGardenSnake won't hurt either. I almost doubled when he sent people to come checkout the interview I did with him and Motonosity
