Thoughts on bikes with ABS

Not going to lie but that sounds moronic, you want to be able to lock your brakes up ect, most modern cars you can turn it all off, and if its not so modern just take fuse out when you want to be a yob.

Dont need to turn it off if I aint got it...besides I aint too fond cars or trucks newer than 1990. Its all carburetors and hand cranks windows for me ;)
And yes, I like to be able to lock my brakes up, I find it kinda handy

I dont know ive yet to see someone stop sooner i n a panic without abs but each to there own, and on the bike if you ever rode one with abs you would never tell it has it until you needed it

IN a panic is the valid point ;)

That is true. In a panic, ABS will save you, in my honest opinion. However, I tell you what, I will go ride the Arkansas Dragon this weekend with ABS and traction control, and I challenge someone without ABS and traction control to do the same on a similar road near you. But to each person, it is their own choice if they want ABS, but I think it makes a world of difference, at least for me anyways. :) I just wish it was standard on all bikes. I knew a guy that was killed on his bike over 9 years ago, he was a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse, studying to be an EMT and do not think he had ABS on his bike or traction control on it when a lady pulled out in front of him all of a sudden, and he went flying. Then again, most people here in Arkansas do not wear a helmet.

I plan to ride the Tail of The Dragon in the fall, all things permittin ;)

Nah, just goin to ride it solo...well duo :D prolly gunna do some hiking/camping while I'm down that way. I plan to video it and stuff so yall can see.
Oh, ok. Great. I look forward to it. :) Maybe these rides will show the differences between ABS and Non ABS bikes. I will have Traction Control on mine. To me, it is a matter of personal opinion on what you think as a rider on preferences. For me, I do like ABS and Traction control because of a few factors that involves my decision like 1) I live on a hill to where pulling out of my driveway, every day can be a challenge. 2) I have had a few low slide accidents with non-abs bikes that involved braking, due to either wind, or wet pavement with oil puddles, but I was able to walk away from them with minor injuries, because I was wearing protection. 3) I like the comfort of knowing that there is something there that is a safety factor for me, and it gets some of my family to not be so scared of motorcycles in general, and give me the "Why did you buy a motorcycle?" statement a rest. They can no longer tell me that riding a motorcycle is dangerous, when I tell them, it is the other drivers that are more of a danger out on the road, and it really does not matter if I drive a car or ride a motorcycle, people are still dangerous out there on the road with them texting while driving, putting on makeup while diving, playing their music too loud in their vehicles to not hear a motorcycle, and pull over into that lane and attempt to run me off the road, playing with their GPS in their vehicles and not looking at the road, texting while at a green light, and a whole list of people being inattentive while driving a car.

I understand, we all got the right to enjoy the things we want to enjoy :)
