To me, mulch. It is bad enough just to take the bag out of the mower, without it cloggig up half of the time, and having to struggle with lifting, and dumping it in the trash, with all the pollen that is caught in there, every time you have to empty it, imho. To me, mulch is better, because then you are, in fact refertilizing your lawn in my opinion, but it would also depend on where you live and the climate that you are in.
