Well spotted! These bikes fall into the category of adventure touring, made for long, long trips on highways, its got height to keep you out of the muck and weight to keep you steady on the freeways. Offroad I think this bike would be ok but the 17 inch wheels don't do it favours. Would be interesting to swap to 19 inch and set it up for off road, that would be the makings of a big adventure!

You'll probably want to get a skid plate/engine plate if you want to take it off I reckon it'll work out fine, just tweek the forks and shock

The colour! seriously though it was a long journey of discovery. I was a honda dealer who introduced me to the CB500X, then I looked at similar competitors like the Vstrom. Then I saw a review from the editors at motorcycle.com who put the Vstrom, NC700x and the Versys against each other.
Versys Won.
Took it for a test ride and dropped the cash.

Yeah the Versys was the better option but the NC700x wasn't far off in my opinion!

my bikes has 17s on it and they work alright for offered. i do some pretty big hill climbs on it.
