The Last 28 Days Have Been The Best Ever For My Channel....

I know to larger channels, this is small-fry, but it has been an awesome month for growth on my channel.

I have said in the past that I didn't like or see value in Shorts, but in certain circumstances, they can offer something, and EICMA is just one of those circumstances!

I know this will not last, and it will fade back to more usual numbers, but I have also seen an uptake in my longform video views too, not sure if related or coincidence.

My best performing video got about 250K views before I took it down because of all the negativity. It netted me about £100.

I've not tried shorts yet but have been thinking about it recently. What's your experience been like HD?

WOW, I'd have just turned off commenting and kept the money rolling in! :D

I personally don't like them as a video format, and in the past had very little engagement from them, and no new subs etc.... But this month, all that growth is from them pretty much although have had a few channels mention me in their videos too, which will have helped, but shorts work, you just need a way to make those views and subs watch your longform videos to gain anything from it, the revenue from shorts is next to nothing.

I turned off the comments for a while and the haters migrated to other videos to send in the hate. After a while it wore me down to the point that my heart would sink every time I received a notification of a new comment.

My latest long form video is getting more views than previous recent long form vids, so am guessing so. I've also had a bit of uptake in the linked related vid on some of the shorts too.

Man, that's the ticket! Catch 'em on something short and them have 'em sit through the long one for the ad dollars!

I need to find ways to do this with my own content... could pay dividends!

You'd think that because of the amount of views, you are bound to get few negative comments, but I have heard from other creators too, that the videos that do exceptionally well, have unusually high rate of hate in comments.
Makes you think, if the monetized channels should occasionally do a trolling stint...

I have had a few negative comments, but mostly aimed at the female in one of the vids... I've deleted any that were mean as she had no say about me sharing the video. I can see a benefit in a trolly post, but am not sure I'd want to do that sort of thing for my regular viewers... although they might find it funny... Most of my spannering vids get some criticism, maybe I should do a clip of my bad bits and see what happens? :D

I know Spite just did a video on how Redditors are ruining motorcycle culture... so yeah, some bigger channels DO troll.

Engagement = pleasing the YT algorithm.

[I know, you're supposed to replace "the algorithm" with "the audience" and that'll solve all your woes, or some such]

This is great stuff, nice big juicy numbers, my NEC vid netted me 8k views in a few days so was well chuffed with that. The last couple of vids done well too!
That is ace to see, my EICMA longform vid only got just over 1k views which I was happy about, 8k is amazing, well done!

That clip has now gained over 150 new subscribers. I've had a few channels try to steal it, thankfully YouTube notifies of any copywrite situations so I can get them removed.
Wow, that's awesome!!!

And yeah, YT can be good at that stuff - I uploaded an intro for someone else to use, and YT flagged it on my page so I could remove it... obviously that wasn't happening, but it's good to know someone's watching :D
