Site owner, lovely and adorable
I've had my fair share of mics, but I always end up going back to the Drift mis (ghost)

Has anyone else found a decent option other than the drift?

I find it's better for loud noises and wind, which is where others fail

I agree and you can't beat the price. I went to RadioShack to get a lapel mic for doing off the bike vlogs and all they had was a POS for $40.00. I think the Drift mic is $20.00.

I still find $20 + shipping expensive.
So I hacked together a 2.5mm plug mic for my setup. It gets a lot of wind noise but that depends where in the helmet the mic is sitting or how fast I go.

I use the neewer mic with my GoPro, i get really good sound quality I think. Without having to increase the gain in post processing. They are super cheap, come in packs of two or more, and fit very well in the helmet (mine is the flexible boom, I use an extension that is wrapped around the base of the front mount)

9.99 ebay free shipping drift mic ive found. I did my first vlog on my bike yesterday. I was reviewing it and noticed when I turn my head to the right I get wind noise -_- Where do you guys put your mics at for the best quality? I have mine ran through the left cheek pad. The tip...oh that's dirtyyy..sits just right at the end of the pad. Maybe move mine up higher? I have a speed and strength S2500 series helmet. (basically icon variant)
