I did a vlog about the Biker Nods but sadly the microphone is in the wrong place so it's picking me up too much, it's clipping, time to re-arrange my helmet setup... again :|

you haven't herd? scooters are like fat chicks. There fun ,but you don't want your friends to know your riding one. LOL jk just a joke I herd I thought was kind of funny.

Aye, that's as maybe. But I love the scooter, and everyone knows I have one. And none of my friends can get to work faster than me, cos they're stuck in their four wheelers in the traffic.

I can understand the concept in USA though - big wide roads, few legal places for filtering, limited traffic in many areas, long distances to travel etc. Small scooter doesn't really work in that environment for me.

[...]France has the wave it is so funny riding through there!!

Yep, we wave a lot but not when it's a scooter. Sometime, at traffic light, we watch the other biker and say someting about the bike like "Awesome exhaust note bro"...

Best thing is when you ride and you join another biker : You share the road for a brief moment and it's like you know the guy since you were born. Love this community so much.

i like how the intentional segregation and hostility of who wears gear and how one side hates the other invaded a thread about if you nod to other bikers or not, just seems like an overly complicated answer to a simple question, but on the topic of if i personally wave or not i do, and i really feel like part of an un-named club of people who dont know each other or anything about each other except they they are on a two wheeled vehicle and what type it is, that being said i almost always get a wave back or some kind of reaction from bikes other than cruisers and about half of the cruisers, was thinking about putting together a montage of me waving and if others do or dont as a video, i wouldnt think that i discriminate against any type of biker at all regardless of type of bike or gear, i have my favorites as does anyone but i dont judge on someone elses preference

I definitely nod or wave because the first time I took my bike on the street alone I got 2 nods and I returned them. It kind of made me feel good and I thought it was cool to acknowledge each other. I can tell you that I gave a nod to my first Harley rider and he gave one back. I usually don't even look at Harley riders because almost every single one that see's me gives me the regular "Chin in the air, I'm ignoring you." treatment so I usually just keep my head straight and ignore them now.

Come here to Nebraska... different experience guaranteed :D !

I mostly nod. However sometimes i wait to see if the other biker nods otherwise it can look like you got some sort of twitch if they dont nod back. Il wait for the nodder, so i become the noddee. But sometimes the nodder might be thinking the same thing wanting to be the noddee not the initiating nodder. Its tense. Sometimes neither is the nodder or noddee so we ride past in a weird sort of mutual 'fuck you-ness' Moral of the story . . . Pretend to be looking the otherway. Always. Or you can nod like some possessed bobble head.

I never know what the hell to do when you're riding solo on your side of the ride and you get a line of nodding bikers coming at you. I tried to nod at 10 bikers in a row, my neck had a crick in it for a week...

What about this one then.... You're at traffic lights... Solo..... There is another solo rider on opposite direction.. Or crossing lane ... The light for both of you are red because of stupid turn arrows..... There is a tense stare from both of you... Do I nod? ... Will he nod? ... Is it too early to nod and leave an uncomfortable pause before moving off? .... Will we both leave it too late and miss the nod opportunity? ... Or get distracted by something and miss the others nod... Leaving them hanging!? ...

Ooooooh you can cut the air with a lightsaber!! Lmao!! ;):D:p

In that situation I employ a good session of universal hand signals for lols, some people get it, some people don't, either way it's a laugh =D

P.S - For those that don't know "Universal hand signals" is referring to middle fingers, two-fingered salutes, knuckle shuffles and "up yours". I'll try and get one such exchange on camera one day.

yeah i nod/wave, but usualy not to scooters, unless they wave first, because scooters are so common over here in slovenia, and most of the scooter guys dont ever wave back, or to eachother..they will just look at you and be like. i dont know you

also i've been getting alot less waves/nods since i got my supermoto (i had an sv650 before)
