Yeah I never ride without gloves either, partly as it's cold as hell here but I need my hands. I've grown attached to then over the years.

Here we do a "V" salute. Palm forward, Index and middle finger out, all others in. And its arm outstreched, so its easily visible. Think Churchill V salute.
The NOD obviously also works - sometimes people cant let go of the clutch :D (or maybe let go of the clutch and do a kickass V salute while popping a wheelie... while filtering).

This. I'll throw it up to any and all motorcyclists regardless of what they're riding. 90% of the time i get it back and when i don't it's usually somebody on a Harley with ridiculously loud exhausts.

I nod to erryone, and every time someone nods back i get a huge grin on my face, and if they don't, there is usually a few expletives involved.
Now that i'm on a bigger bike, I've noticed more people initiate the nod, rather than when i was on the 150

Wasn't expecting that pic in this thread lol!

I nod to every other biker, and courteous car drivers. Spread the happiness!

That little chavvy kid on the scooter could be just starting out on his life path to be the next Moto GP champion, and that simple action from you could cement his future! :D

Does it really cost you anything? It's a lot simpler than trying to remember your own little snobbish set of 'rules' for you you can and can't nod to...

Never nodded to anyone in my life! And never been nodded to either! But her in Illinois we throw the what we call the Harley wave like the guy on the left of the pic

Only reason we nod in the UK is because during our motorbike training we get taught not to take our right hand of the brakes. And because we drive on the left, it will be awkward/dangerous to wave with our left hand across our body lol.

Oh i DO LOVE sorting out the idiots...

Harleys - RARELY Nod, Bought the BadAss image from PeterStevens, so they cant...Coz their BadAss (on Sat.+Sundays only tho, gotta put the suit back-on on Monday)
Ducatti's - Why should they, "I ride a Duke!! Im LOVED by ALL!!"
Adventure Bikes - Too busy standing-up, EVERYWHERE?!?!
SportsBikes - You gotta Look REAL hard, coz theyll be 'Hanging' off the bike whenu pass em.
Scooters - Ooooh im scared....."That BikieMan Nodded at me, do i call the Police??"

I do LOVE it when someone Nods/Waves back, shows me the community's solidarity is Still Alive :)
> : )

I don't just do the nod, I go all out and do the biker wave. haha. I do it whenever I get the chance. even to scooters. I feel dumb when they ignore me or dont see me but oh well.

@MrFalloffalot ... Ducati loved by all?? ... The bikes are nice... But a lot of the riders I have met are..... Painful .... Too busy expecting everyone to fawn over them and their bike.... And sometimes deigning to reply.....

... Mind you a lot of the Ducatisti I see are down in my riding area from Sydney.... And get the shits when their double decaf latte with peppermint sprinkles is too foamy or too hot!! ... ;)

back home people wave and i used to do as well
but here in japan they neither wave nor nod

as someone said above, left side of the road u nod cause its akward across the body and u don t take the right of the throttle. but here in japan they don t even nod. kinda sad tho

in the twisty mountains i ve seen the odd nod but usually to late too respond
