General The Age Old "which First Bike?" Discussion.

After reading the rules and having participated I thought I'd drop a video in here for the first time, and so I'll go with my most recent upload (just now).

These are my opinions on which bike you should start out on. I know not everyone will see eye to eye with my opinions and I'm aware my opinions could've been disproved a hundred times over, but that's the beauty of throwing your opinion out there, is people can disagree and we have a blossoming discussion!

So enough waffling and let's see what the forum thinks anyhow

I love the Road Rash intro! I used to play the hell out of those games back in the day.

I tell people to start on a dirt bike, if they can. There are some definite differences between street bike handling and dirt bike, but dirt bikes are pretty forgiving in terms of learning to ride, falling down etc.

For street bikes, I say start small for your size. I'm 6'2" so most 250s are freaking painful to ride. The bike I learned on was a Kawasaki 440ltd and it was perfect for me.
