Tail Bag Or Rucksack

Hi all,

So I have little or no storage space on my bike and I am thinking about either just using a rucksack or getting a tail bag.

Which would you recommend?

Cheers.

Never used a tail bag, but have used a rucksack and a tank bag.

I guess it depends what you're taking and where you're taking it.

I use my rucksack to take my work clothes and shoes with me to work.

So I always want to take my luggage in with me and I use it everyday.

Therefore it's much more convenient for me to just have it on my back, so I don't have to bother putting it on and taking it off the bike everyday.

I love my tank bag,, you can get them with straps so you can wear it like a rucksack when its not on the tank

Thanks for the responses guys :) Still not sure what to go with but going to pop into my local bike shop and have a look see.

If you are getting a back pack, DO NOT buy one from a bike shop. you will pay out the ass for NOTHING.

What are you thinking about carrying?

It depends on the distance.

I have a backpack for my daily riders, a tank bag for weekends and a camel pack for weekends (can replace tank bag) and longer trips with a tail/saddle bag. I ride an R1.

I use a tank bag for longer trips, but if I'm just riding around town a backpack is fine. I find a backpack gets uncomfortable after a while.

I put a standard back-pack (my daughter's old school one) onto the back seat of my bike like a tail bag. Works great, very cheap. The straps go around the grab bars perfectly. On big tours I also wear a back pack which has my computer and chargers, external drive etc. in it and is very heavy, but it rests on the other one as I ride and makes the whole thing easy :)

I'm too paranoid of my bike getting scratched by anything attached to it so I just use a back pack.

Bothe lol. Riding a non SS or RR style bike I have a nelson rigg tail bag that can fit half my life in it, and it detaches with a over the shoulder strap. And I can wear a backpack as well.

I just put it on my back, you could see it in my latest vlog, and the one I am editing currently has me riding with a backpack as well. There is zero storage on the Honda 919!

I ride with a backpack but it's hella uncomfortable after a while, especially if you haul a lot of crap around like I do. But if you can, strapping a backpack to your rear fender/passenger seat isn't a bad idea.

Think someone on reddit posted that the other day, I wanna try it still

I try not to use a backpack / rucksck ...more to catch if i come off and if you land on it more to damage the spine ..so i would go tail or tank bag
