Tags - Do You Use Them?

So I want to know if you guys use the tags feature when uploading a video to Youtube, what the best way is to use them and whether it actually makes a difference? I've tried using them but I keep getting an error that one my tags is too long and then I have to remove all of them except one or two

Yes, use them. Single words separated by commas.

i.e. honda, motorcycle, 2006, cbr1000, sunday, fast, race...... etc...

Supposedly makes your video come up with those words in searches more readily.

I use them. Just single words or short phrases that represent the subject of the video. I don't know how much difference it actually makes.

Without tags your videos will be less likely to show up in searches. I downloaded an extension for YouTube called TubeBuddy (there's a free and paid version). It adds features that allows better management of your channel and one of the ones I like is the ability to look at the tags on other peoples videos. Gives you good ideas about what tags you should be putting in your vids.

I use them, and again I have no real idea of if they help or not.

Think the title of the video has just as much bearing as anything else.

Thanks for the input. I've gone back and put tags in my videos that didn't have them. Doesn't seem to do much for my views but my channel is too small to really tell. But I noticed that the suggestions in the sidebar seem to be a lot more relevant when I have good tags
