I have 52 subscribers. I used to get about 2 subscribers a week. A couple weeks ago I got like 13 subscribers but now I havnt got any since. How do I get more subscribers again?

Just keep doing what your doing, they will come and go and sometimes in rushes, I've had plateaus where I got nothing for a couple weeks and then 10 in a day without doing anything. Keep posting regular content and it will grow.

Pretty much this. I feel that making YouTube videos has become more about uploading regularly and endurance. Every video increases the amount of ways people can stumble on your content. Just do you and keep doing you

You'll start to notice that the warmer weather tends to cause drops on the stuff - everyone's out On their own bikes etc

In the uk for example it's the bank holiday so we have four days off aka time out with the family blah blah

Yeah, not everyone is on the same schedule as you. Things will ebb and flow naturally as different groups of people change watching habits, etc.

I did spend a bit of time today on YouTube watching, liking and commenting on videos with similar hashtags to my content. I'm hoping that it will help drive some traffic my way and start up some relationships with other users.

I gained quite a lot of subs Nov-Feb despite putting next to nothing out on the channel. People not riding means they've more time for watching. Seen quite a few comments on some videos from 2014.

Check your analytics and see how many of your subs are actually viewing your vids.

That way you can work out what your viewers like and work towards more content.

I'm a true believer in if you build it they will come. But if you want growth you have to work at it.

I assume you are pimping yourself on other social media.

Just persevere bro. You have subscribers who really like your content. Remember that.

Heh, personally I'd like to see my videos having a higher watch count than just subscribers. It sucks if I make a video, and only me and a few friends watch it, after all that work making something entertaining.

Yeah, when just starting out you do have to consider drawing in new people, as your subscriber base is small. I know why my few subscribers are there, but I'm getting 3x the views from non-subs. You've got to work that stream.

I've been getting more into the deeper analytics tools, like checking traffic sources and search criteria for my videos. It's giving great insight.

Here's a screen shot of my subscribers since 2010. As you can see there have been some jumps, usually in response to a video, but there have also been some dips, even going into the negatives. It could be from people not liking a video, getting tired of my channel, or even people's accounts getting closed. every now and then YouTube does a sweep and closes a bunch of inactive accounts. I've lost as much as 15 in a shot because of that. It's going to ebb and flow and you will get sudden rushes in on direction or the other, but you have to be around for a bit to see whether you are maintaining an upward trend or not.

I look at the count but it never bothered me. Mine also goes up and down. There is no way no how I will hit 100K or even 10K. I don't have "it", you know, that X factor that just draws people in because you are awesome in their eyes. I am just a soon to be 35 year old balding guy with a uni-brow. No one wants to be like me, so there is no reason for people to subscribe to me. I have said in the past I would eat a shoe if I hit 10K before my 3rd anniversary. Not going to happen since that is coming up in a few months and I am sitting at 2.5K subscribers. I have also said that I would get my unibrow professionally trimmed if I hit 100K subscribers. Which is even less likely. I have also said that I would get a SUMO if I hit 50K.

I am not going to hit those numbers so I won't have to do any of those things. It's not negativity that keeps me from it, but the appeal I have with the masses. I am a realist. There is nothing wrong with dreaming of 10K or 100K subscribers and everything that comes with it. But be honest with yourself. If you don't blow up like a balloon in a short period of time it is unlikely you ever will.
