I'm not trying to be an expert but if you're interested, check out video 0035 for some thoughts and theories on riding on the road and in traffic that I think helped me during this crash. A good part of my survival was luck, yes. However "chance favors the prepared mind". So meet Lady Luck or your Guardian Angel half way and prepare yourself with basic good road habits and practiced street strategies.
I hope they help others as I feel good basic habits practiced daily will pay off when you don't have to think about them at a moment like this. I did not hyper-analyze the whole thing at the time like I do now in the video of course, there was no time. I do believe the basic daily habits of staying away from traffic, etc. helped me make split second choices rather than not having any plan and freezing up.
