I have had both SAC and GP's and i have given both a fair shot ... I came to the conclusion that SAC is better for multiple reasons

1.SHAPE its not going to be a block on the side or top of your head
2.ACCESS Using a skeleton bracket you have access to a 3.5mm jack and on the go charging +mini HDMI
3.battery this camera keeps up with the current go pro on battery but last longer than the one with displays
4. Live view watch to see what your camera is seeing
5. Over Wifi Live streaming ability , stream directly to the internet
6. Sony has been making cams long before go pro's father was born

However Go pro's makes a good cam and have a spot somewhere on this ,
as they have a big fan base , but i dont think they was designed with motovloging in mind

let me know what you think and let me know HOW you have your cam mounted

here is my helmet setup

I use GoPro Hero 4 Black as my primary camera but I also own both the Sony as100v and the Drift Ghost. I actually would rank the sony camera as #3 on the list personally. Don't get me wrong it is a great camera and I use it frequently as a secondary angle but I think sony is best for off the bike footage capture. I tend to use it more for walking around and such.

Drift is the best camera for a motovlogger as it seems to be the only one that truly is designed for a motovlogger. It is the simplest to mount and use and literally takes less than 2sec to throw on a helmet and go. Battery life seems to be the best on it as well.

Sony and GoPro offer superior quality but let's be real for a minute and not forget that when it comes to youtube encoding it really doesn't matter much. Plus as a viewer it's the content of the video that really is what's important.

My ranking:
1) GoPro - because I run a battery eliminator kit (unlimited battery) and because I like the chin mounted position best. I also run blackout housing so it isn't noticeable that it's recording.
2) Drift - ease of use, battery life, and doesn't look awkward mounted to helmet and people tend to not notice it.
3) Sony - Great camera and can be side mounted easily but skeleton housing is known to pop open (mine has) also audio doesn't seem to be as great as the other two cameras using the same mic.

I'll upload a video of my setups later with all three.

As far as my setup with the sony action cam .. im using USB charging .. and i found the SAC to be much cheaper on ebay than the drift & Gopro... I dont think i ever had mic issues and i have had limited time usage with the drift . . . the drift could be a better camera , i would need to do more research myself , perhaps ill try the GoPro chin mount setup and see how it will work

looking forward to seeing your setup video's
