Make them a bit shorter, i noticed that vid's that go past the 9 or 10 min mark get less views.

Hey 'newbie brother' ! :D ... Good stuff!

I'll watch some more tmw at work... Not sure if my home wireless is contributing to jerkiness in vid ... That's the little camera you put a thread about other day right?... What edit program/platform are you using?

When you saved after editing.... What 'resolution/bps' did you save it in?? ... Not hacking on your effort or camera .. but it looks like 'mobile phone' resolution.... But I will check that with the office computer (on iPad at moment) .. I know the file size can look huge and take a while to upload ..but the higher resolution pays off... Just IIRC that unit is supposed to be 720p .... What I just saw was not 720p?

On editing .... While I'm still raw at it also... I agree with meifesto ... Shorter ... I have been trying real hard to stay under 10 min ... And closer to 5-7 min if I can.. Not that my view count is climbing off the charts yet... Or even off the floor!

I usually end up trash about 50% of a vid in the first pass.... Cut out the 'nothing chatter' .. The straight nothing happening bits of road/traffic ... The bad 'takes' of what I'm trying to say ..

On the second pass I look to tidy up the flow of my chosen viewpoint/topics and setup neater vision cuts , make sure I'm not leaving the rest of the side chatter in the way of the main ideas ... And lose maybe another 10-20% of it ...

Then it's down to the particular splits start/end points ... Add in the effects ... Fade in from black, fade out... Swirls, pixellated frame etc ...

Cut about 30 min down to roughly 10 .... Then play the whole thing through and see if I make a face at anything I did or said that's still there... Working on nearly an hour of stuff at the moment ... It's all kinda linked but looks like it gonna be better in the end to do Part 1 and Part 2 .... Simply to keep the length bearable ... ;)

I don't save any of the trashed stuff ..apart from any out-takes I really want .. 5-10 second grabs of oopses and brainfarts ..I figure I can always cover it again in another run.... And if I didn't like the stuff enough to keep it in first edit then I'm unlikely to want it later.... You can save everything I guess. ... But you gonna need a tB storage drive pretty soon!

I'm happy for any of the others around here to tear my methods or theory to shreds ... It's all learning for me!

I'm pretty brutal on what I take out of my footage ... Maybe others think I leave nonsense in there!! ... But if I'm not happy to watch myself on a Vlog .. Then I don't see why I should force the 'crap' bits on everyone else! 8-)

Yea, I am going to try to lower my min on my videos. Also the camera shoots in 720p at 60 FPS, i also use Sony Vegas 10 to edit my videos. I am new to the editing so, I need to practice more any pointers would be awesome!! Thank you you both for your input, I will take everyone's opinions and help as it comes in!!

Most of my videos result from a ride that lasted 3-4 hours so I have to be really picky what I put in to keep the length down :P In my experience, if it feels like you've been talking too long, chances are you have been. 3-5 minutes flies by on a bike, so from where you start, think how far you can go in that time and try and get everything you want to say on camera before you get there. That's what I do anyway.
