Ive lost the little rubber cover widget for the connector rear hatch that covers the mini usb side...

bugger says I!!!! ..

oh well.. look online for a replacement widget.. or a whole cover ...

its not always straight forward with search engines these days...

but only after trawling through a lot of ads and mentions that this one also works.... (methinks whoever puts some of these is has been awake way too long!!) it probably screws on there... but the ports are back to front... so i think its for the HD and 170 only?

and while i was looking about... i found this.... a very cool idea!!! ... but read through the listing... first wtf moment comes at item specifics, brand .. go pro hero hd .. when its listed as a drift thing? ..

then i hover the mouse over the other images... the one with the red patch on it, the rear of the plastic looks .. well... fucked!! o_O ..

the installation video is for a gopro hero 2!!!?? .. more confusion..

and finally reading down the disclaimers/shipping info section... anyone with that many stipulated 'not our faults' and mentions of lost products and money lost from claims? ... noooooooo i dont think so!!

id love a infrared/lowlight lens like this .. even just to test out and see what happens on night rides.... just not from this company!! :rolleyes:
 
update.. ordered the part from the second link actually.. they have this cool instant chat popup window.... from West Aussie ... the guy conformed it is the wrong photo but they have the right stock ... so in about 7 days ill have a new rear hatch...

plus he is looking into the infrared lens thing for me... :D

I was hoping to find a replacement rear hatch for my Drift 720 that has the openings (like with the Ghost) so that I can power my camera while riding, without having to leave the hatch completely off. No luck so far, but if anyone ever finds one (if they even make them) then please let me know.
 
@TriumfAnt ... Which side of the screw thread thingy is your mini USB ? ... Not sure but I think they mostly keep the cases the same size.. Just move the ports and such around for the internal fits ... Or just to be clever sometimes....

The hd720 and the hd1080 look to be pretty similar at the rear from external view only? ... Problem I had identifying correct part for the ghost is that the ports are reversed from previous model
 
That red thing you can see on the back of the lens IS an infrared FILTER so if that lens is supposed to pass IR to the camera's sensor, it's not doing any of that unless you remove that filter.
 
@janx101 the mini USB port is on the upper right on one camera and lower right on the other, so even though the Ghost rear hatch fits both cameras, it blocks the USB port on the 720 :(
