Scooter Gear?

AT Rides

I've been thinking about something recently and I wanted to get some opinions on it. If you were to ride a 50cc scooter that can't exceed 30mph would you wear much more than a helmet?

Ride it like a boss. :D

back when i had a scooter i was only really wearing gloves and a helmet, though i did crash once and i ripped up my pants n shit, but nothing too bad

I know lads who wear full leathers on scooters, They are also the some of the fastest riders in europe ont hem haha

Tallguysmallbike used to ride a C90. In full gear.
He has a YT channel.

The max speed of the bike is not necessarily the max speed you can get thrown away of it in a crash. Set your priorities and, as always, ride safe.

i wear helmet, gloves, kevlar jeans and jacket, i wear bike trainers as they are a bit better than my converse! i dont care how slow i go, if i come off its gonna hurt!

A bicyclist died recently when he hit a car head on at about 40mph; the car had pretty much come to a stop. It's not necessarily your speed that's the issue, but the combined speed and the impact.

If you came off a bicycle at 30mph onto the road only wearing a helmet, how good would your jeans and stick-out bony bits be feeling?

If you were walking with a helmet on and a car hit you at 30mph, do you think you would be perfectly ok? Then take it up to two different speeding vehicles, either one from behind or swiping you sideways or head-on.

Wear your gear.

So many scooter riders here wear no gear whatsoever. I would consider an open face helmet maybe, but definitely still eye protection, gloves, jeans, a jacket, and boots. You are still on the road with bigger vehicles. Even at 30 mph landing on pavement will hurt (like putting your hand on a belt sander, right?)

Would still pretty much wear all the gear I wear now. Even 30m/h is fast enough to remove a lot of bark and break limbs if you come off.
