Re: Scooter chaos with cars - series
It took me so long to get back on two wheels, I can't believe I wasted so much of my life sat like a complete tool in a car, barking at the window through frustration. But occasionally, I do love my car - it's got great power and the most amazing ability to stick to the road (ie it's not a BMW or an Audi) and it looks damn cool.
But if I need to get to work and back during the commute time - my bike is 15 minutes faster each way. That's a saving of a minute per mile. Even on mainly clear roads, I can still beat a car, door to door. It gives me 100mpg rather than 35-38. I always have free parking on a bike. I can choose the pace I go at, rather than have it dictated to me. A bike provides so much less stress.
And I feel alive!
(even if it is only a little 125 scooter - I started looking at the Aprilia SRV850 recently. Man that's nice - if I ever start earning enough to not give a shit about economy, that's my bike of the future)
